#violet lion

I couldn’t believe it, I didn’t know how to respond, he was kissing me. We pulled back I could feel how hot my face was. I looked away not knowing what to say.  

“Sorry…” He mumbled, “... That was really stupid of me to do,” I was still trying to compose my thoughts does he like me too? “I just didn’t know what to say and you probably have a lot on your mind but I… honestly I don’t know what I was thinking. You probably hate me now.” 

“I don’t hate you,” I quickly spoke up. I was still embarrassed I didn’t know how to respond to this at all. 

“If I’m being completely honest, I’ve kind of liked you for a while, but I never got to talk to you until all this,” He explained rubbing his neck also trying to avoid eye contact.

“Wait, are you serious?” My eyes widened. This was all a dream come true, yet came at the worst possible time, or maybe the best? I don’t know anymore.  

“Yeah, I used to watch you. Not in a creepy way! Or anything like that, just when you were drawing. It was almost like you’d lose yourself in your drawings,``he murmured. He’d watch me? It made me wonder if he’d ever caught me staring at him. 

I curled myself into a little ball, I honestly wanted to disappear this was all too much, “I used to draw you…” I uttered into my folded arms, refusing to look at him. 

“... Look I know we’re here to save the universe… Maybe we… I guess what I want to say is will you go out with me?” 

“Yes,” I responded almost immediately, I never thought something like this would ever happen. This time he seemed to be the one in complete shock. I smiled a bit. After everything else in the last two days this was the best thing. We talked for a few more minutes after this until we both decided it was best to go to bed. I quickly pecked his cheek before going to my room. As soon as the door closed and locked I grabbed my pillow and screamed into it happily. 

Before landing on my bed. I quickly changed before getting into bed. 

I opened my eyes and looked around I was back at my house in the living room I was on the couch… What was going on? I was so confused, was this a dream or was it everything else. I looked in front of me there was a letter with my name on it, the quick glance I got of it, it was my acceptance letter from the garrison “Mom?” I heard my voice question I turned and saw my younger self. 

“Why?” I felt my body moving like the other times was this my moms memory? What was going on?

“What?” I was so confused. 

“Why did you join the garrison behind my back!” She shouted. We went back and forth of yelling about why I wanted to join, and how she was saying it was too dangerous, I didn’t know why she had said that until now. It was almost like I could feel my mom’s emotions though she was scared, and angry. 

I woke up really early, this was just getting weird, I saw a memory through my moms eyes and feeling her emotions, what is with these dreams, I sighed. I stared up at the ceiling above my bed. I lay like that for a few hours before I had to get up and had to get dressed in my paladin gear. Allura asked us to fix something on the outside the castle. 

I was with everyone as Allura and Coran tried to explain what to do. Lance being the ‘genius’ that he is made it turn red and start blaring at us. Only for Pidge to fix it. I will never get over this machinery and tech and I need to start learning about it if we’re going to be stuck here a while. 

I glanced over at Keith who was next to Shiro I smiled at him, we had decided that it’d probably be best not to tell the others just yet after everything else that happened. 

We came into a weird spore field, Shiro activated his shield and told us to remember our training I saw two fly by and turn to see Lance throw another one and hit Shiro, I had to bite my tongue because it was pretty funny. 

“Sorry Shiro I was trying to hit Keith,” Lance said I grabbed one they were pretty squishy. Lance got hit in the face. 

“Heh, like that?” Keith asked I bit the inside of my check before throwing one at Keith myself. 

“No I think he meant like that.” I smirked. 

“YES! Squishy asteroid fight!” Hunk shouted before throwing several, we all were throwing them except Pidge. We had even gotten Shiro to throw a few. “I don’t think this are asteroids,” Pidge said “This bioluminescent pulsing doesn’t seem natural, it's almost like a code,” She explained. 

“But that theoretically impossible, you can't program a spore,” I said before someone nailed the back of my helmet. 

“Well before you figure it out everyone needs to come in for decontamination,” Allura told us. After we were all back in our rooms. I was grabbing my sketchbook, and maybe going to ask Keith if he wanted to hang out. I walked out to see Coran, Keith, and Lance. Lance had on a face mask and robe and was saying something about him and the blue lion being very happy together. “Guys, check this out!” Pidge called out over the intercom. I quickly put my sketchbook back before joining the others in the green lion hanger. 

“Oh, I’ve seen this experiment before! But wait why do we need electricity from a potato?” Hunk questioned. 

“No, I was able to crack the sporse code… Heh sporse code,” She chuckled, “I ran the bioluminescent pattern through a variety of code-breaking…” As interesting as I found all this stuff I really wanted her to get to the point. 

“What does it say?” Keith asked. 

“Oh, right! ‘Under attack. Galra. Help’ followed by coordinates.”

“It’s a distress signal good work, now let’s get those coordinates into the castle-ship’s navigation system.” Shiro said. 

“The signal came from Olkarion, home to the Olkari a proud class of engineers.” When Coran pulled up an image of the city I could see the stars in Pidge’s eyes. “An Olkari once gave me this!” Coran help up a floating cube. 

“What is it?” 

“Uh, hello? A floating cube!” Coran stated the obvious “And watch!” He smirked, “My name is Coran and I’m a gorgeous man.” He said and the cube repeated him. Pidge was amazed by it. However I started to wonder why they used spores as a distress signal, when Keith voiced my exact complaint. 

“Actually the signal was coming from the forest not the city Pidge.” Allura explain, as all the joy drained from her eyes. I patted her shoulder. 

“We could probably see the city after we defeat the Galra.” I told her. 

We were flying our lions before all of them got shot by arrows. “Hey Violet isn’t working,” I said. 

“Neither is Red.” 

“Seems like we’re being dragged down.” Shiro said. This just didn’t seem like a Galra attack. We landed in front of these people… and wooden mech suits? 

Eventually we all got out of our lions where a lady named Ryner explained to us that a small group were able to escape when the Galra attacked and that they’d evolved to use the trees to make weapons and homes. This was honestly amazing to see everything. 

Ryner brought down one of the wooden mechs we were amazed and kind of wanted one. Ryner showed us these crown things and explained that we needed to send binary code. I put it on and walked to one of the trees. I placed my hand on it I cleared my head as much as I could before closing my eyes and sending code. I felt a slight heat radiate from my back and hand before I could open my eyes one of them plopped down behind me.

When I got back on the castle I learned that Shiro would be in one of the healing pods for a while. I still hadn’t told them anything about what happened, but I’d rather tell them at the same time then one by one. We were all in the healing bay watching Shiro.

“Is he okay?” Hunk asked when we heard Shiro groaning. 

“Sometimes the healing process causes involuntary brain waves,” Allura explained. 

“It looks like he’s having a bad dream,” Hunk mumbled. 

“He just got blasted by a space witch and mauled by giant lizards, what dream could be worse than that?” Keith asked. We all waited for a short while longer before he started to wake up. We had all gathered closer and smiled at him when he opened his eyes. He told us about having a dream of a Galra soldier helping him and some coordinates in his arm. 

We waited for Shiro to get dressed before walking down to the green lions hanger. Lance was filling Shiro in on what had happened with him and Hunk and Mermaids? I wasn’t really sure, I was just thankful the attention wasn’t on me, I don’t even know how I’m going to tell them. 

“(Y/n)?” I heard Hunk called out. 

“Huh?” I looked to see everyone was staring at me. 

“You were kind of zoned out there,” Lance looked me. 

“Oh…” I breathed. 

“You know you’ve been acting really weird since you got back, you’re the only person who never shared what happened while we were all separated,” Pidge crossed her arms. 

I sighed, I was going to have to tell them sooner or later and I might as well just get it over with, “I don’t really even know where to start,” I stated. “A lot happened honestly,” I guess I should just ease the information in. “Well, I guess I can start with I crashed onto this planet where I was met by a girl who ended up being the planets princess,” I said I wasn’t trying to be vague but I’m still not sure how they will take it. “She ended up taking me to the queen, where I found out I was on the home of the original Violet Paladin, and at first the queen wasn’t very happy learning that I was the new paladin,”

I explained a bit of what I learned like how they had closed of all communication with the rest of the universe, and how the only reason I think they hadn’t been attacked is because in the Archives I learned that they never shared the location of their planet with anyone. Coran shared that not even Alfor or any of the other original paladins had been to the planet and that I was the first ‘outsider’ I bite my tongue to hold back from correcting him at least yet. “Okay but none of that explains why you’ve been acting weird,” Pidge said ever observant she is. 

“It might just be easier to show you then tell you.” I pulled out my phone I had snapped a photo of the picture that the Queen showed me and I showed it to the group. 

“It looks like you, but it’s not,” Pidge state. 

“Is this some creepy twin in space thing?” Lance asked. 

“No, how do I put this… it’s true it’s not me, but it’s also not a twin thing… I mean, except the actual picture in this is over 28 years old.” I explained, I could almost see the wheels turning in their heads. “It’s my mom!” I exclaimed not really being able to take it anymore. 

“How!” Pidge was the first to speak up since she was the only person here to ever meet my mom. 

“Wait what?” Lance was the next one to speak up. I explained to them as much as I knew which still wasn’t much other then the fact that she was the queen’s little sister. It felt so much better to have this off my chest. We continued to the hanger to find out what if anything was in Shiro’s arm. The whole way down Lance kept questioning me about everything, I was kind of annoyed but I just ignored him. 

While we were waiting for Pidge to find the coordinates I just kept thinking about everything that's happened. I wonder if my mother would have ever told me about this? And if that was why she was mad that I had joined the garrison.

 Eventually Pidge found the coordinates, but Allura didn’t seem too happy about trusting something from the Galra but we went ahead and used a  wormhole to get to the base. In front of us were these large crystals they were kinda cool. 

“Well this is it. No signs of life, living or otherwise.” Coran said. “I don’t want to bring the castle any closer those xanthorium chucks contain highly unstable nitrate salts even bumping one can blow us straight to Wozblay,” Okay slightly less cool. 

“Are you sure this is right?” Shiro asked. 

“These are the coordinates Number Six gave me.” Coran said.

“Hey! My decryption is solid,” Pidge defended glaring at Coran. 

“We’ve gotta be missing something,” Shiro said. We ended up waiting a few minutes before alarms began blaring. 

“There’s an intruder in the Castle!” Coran shouted. Allura found him on level five. We all suited up and went down. We each began running through the halls to find this guy. Lance was the first to find him. I began to head back towards Lance listening to Corans commentary. Next they ran by Pidge. I soon found him dragging Pidge and being followed by Lance, and I joined following them. 

Then Hunk who somewhat blasted at us. We all chased him but kinda lost him as he ran towards Keith. That was the only good part of Coran’s commentary is we knew where this guy was. By the time Hunk, Lance and I caught up with Keith was quite literally hurled at us knocking the four of us down. 

We watched as Shiro and the guy were at each other’s throats before they both backed down. And that’s when Allura slammed him into the wall. When Shiro explained that the guy was the Galra soldier he’d remembered. 

We eventually had him chained up in our common room. Ulaz was apparently a Galra soldier in this secret underground revolution called the Blade of Marmora. The coordinates we had were actually corrected its just the base was hidden in a space fold. Honestly you could feel the tension between everyone from Allura’s mistrust of Ulaz, to the rest of us kinda being on the same side as her, except Shiro. 

Everyone except Lance, Allura, and Coran took the Red Lion to the base. We learned that they had several members in the ranks of Zarkon’s army including his main ship which is why we got away last time. Pidge asked about her family, which Ulaz agreed to transfer prison data to the castle of lions. 

“What’s that weapon you carry?” Keith asked. 

“It’s a ceremonial blade that each of our members carry,” Ulaz explained. “Oh, nice,” Keith said. Alarms began blaring again. We opened a screen to see another one of those stupid robeasts, but how did it find us this time? Before we left, Ulaz gave Shiro coordinates. Allura blamed Ulaz for us being found, but this time I think I agree with Shiro I don’t think Ulaz told Zarkon we were here. 

We waited in our lions but soon the fight was on. But this thing was nearly impossible to beat, it sucked in the crystals before blasting us, or it tried to suck us in. Ulaz left after the base was revealed… maybe he’s not one of the good guys. No time for that though as the beast tried to suck in the castle. We managed to stop that, but our plan to blow it up after didn’t work. It tried to suck us in again. 

“I’m going to take this down from the inside!” We heard Ulaz call. 

“No let us handle this!” Shiro tried. 

“Voltron is too important,” was the last thing he said to us before he flew into the beasts mouth, just as we thought it didn’t work it started to fold in on itself. He opened a space pocket inside the beast.

When we returned to the castle no one seemed in too high of spirits. I decided to walk around for a bit too maybe clear my head. So much has happened in the last couple of days its been a lot to process. Honestly, how long had it been since we’d left earth? It didn’t seem like that long but there was no day in night in space, we had a schedule but it was more like we slept for a few hours and we stayed up until we were ready to pass out. 

I finally decided maybe going to bed would be the best option right now to clear my mind. I slowly walked down the hall being quiet because I’m sure everyone else is probably trying to sleep now. I was almost to my room when I noticed Keith in front of my door. 

“You need something?” I asked. 

“Oh yeah, I just wanted to talk,” He said.

“About?” I wondered what he wanted to talk about. 

“A few things actually,” He said. “Would you mind if we went in my room for a minute?” I blushed a bit at the request but nodded I did tell him we could talk if he ever needed to. We went to his room. We both sat on his bed. 

“Alright what’s up? I’m not the only one who’s been acting kind of weird lately you’ve gotten more reckless,” I said noting his behavior from the last few days? Weeks? But it was more than that almost like he was also being protective. “Remember that sword Ulaz had?” He asked.

“Yeah, you seemed pretty interested in it,” 

“Well it’s because of this,” Keith pulled out a dagger from under his pillow, it had a weird marking, kinda like Ulaz. 

“Where or how’d you get it if you don’t mind my asking?” I looked at him. “I’ve kind of always had it, I thought it was weird but now it's even weirder because the marking is similar to Ulaz,” Keith explained. “That means the Galra were on earth at some point,” 

“But Ulaz also did say that only the Blades of Marmora had them,” I said. “And I’d reason that if my mom and possibly my dad made it to earth without being detected by the garrison then who’s to say someone else couldn’t? And for all we know, maybe it was imbedded in a meteorite or something and your parents found it and thought it was cool,” 

“You might be right,” He smiled a bit. 

“What else do you want to talk about?” I asked. I could tell there was something else, we didn’t know about the Blades until today so he hasn’t been acting weird because of that. 

“Oh, well, how do I put this…” He said looking down. 

“Keith-” I was cut off, I was so shocked Keith was kissing me!

After being thrown out of the wormhole I’d stopped screaming to try to figure out what to do, my Lion was quickly approaching a planet. I moved the controls but nothing was happening my Lion wasn’t responding to me at all. I didn’t know what to do as I had to brace for the incoming crash that I knew was going to happen. We landed hard, I groaned and looked around my lions head, all the power was still off. I tried calling any of the others on my intercom but it didn’t work, I must be out of range from them. “It’s okay, girl, we will get you working soon… I hope.” I patted her consol I looked out to see that I was in a grassy field not far from what appeared to be a city, all the buildings looked so weird yet really cool. They were white, tall, and what looked to be metal all around them. “Wow,” I mumbled, maybe someone in the city can help me? I walked out of the cockpit to jump out of the top of her head. I stood on top of my lion for a moment and looked around I didn’t see any of the other lions, so I really am alone here. I debated leaving my lion alone to go to the city, but surely someone from the city must have seen me crash… I weighed my options leave my lion and hopefully not have her stolen while I tried not to get killed in an unknown city, or stay here and wait for the others to find me and hope that whoever is in the city is friendly and doesn’t come attack… both are horrible options. “Hey!” I heard a female shout from behind me. I turned to see a young woman not much older than me she was approaching from the city, so someone did see me crash. “Are you okay?” She asked once she reached me. I got a good look at her, she looked like a human, she was a bit taller than me maybe not as tall as Hunk and Shiro but definitely taller than Lance and Keith. She had brown hair pulled into a ponytail she was in a black spacesuit with white lining the edges. “Hello?” She called again. “Oh, sorry,” I said, “I’m fine,” I replied unsure how much I could trust this girl. “I’m so glad to see the Violet Lion has returned.” She smiled. “What?” I asked. “Your lion, it’s the Violet Lion we have many tales of old about the Violet lion and the paladins of Voltron.” “Where is this place?” I asked. “This is Naoria,” She smiled. “And I’m Nova,” She introduced herself. “I’m (Y/n) the paladin of the Violet lion.” I introduced myself. “You must come with me, Mother will be so happy to know that the Violet Lion has returned!” She happily cheered pulling my arm. “Wait, I can’t leave my lion,” I said. “Oh not to worry she will be safe no one here would dare disrespect her,” The girl continued to pull me along. I took note of the back of her suit it seemed to be missing ten small panels in the back they formed a heart altogether. But instead of skin like I thought it’d be it was like metal? But the metal wasn’t attached to the suit it was attached to her skin from the small places where I can kinda see some skin poking out. She dragged me to the largest of the buildings. In the small part of the city, I saw all the women seemed to be dressed like her and all their suits were like hers but missing a different amount and forming different shapes altogether. However, all the men seemed to be in what I could only assume to be plainclothes or maybe work clothes? But Nova was pulling me along quickly I could only catch a glimpse. “Kenna!” Nova shouted to a girl who has blonde wavy hair. Again the same outfit, and since we slowed down I could really take in the details her outlines were red, it reminded me of Keith, and I started to worry about the others what if they weren’t as lucky to get people like this? I had zoned out and failed to notice Nova dragging me down the hall again to a large door. She practically kicked down the door and waltzed in tugging me behind her. “NOVA! What is wrong with you running off like that!” The other woman who had been in the room shouted. I peeked over Nova’s shoulder the woman seemed much more regal than anyone else I had seen, the queen maybe? “Mother it’s okay!” Nova replied, so if my assumptions are correct that would make the girl in front of me the Princess. “The Violet Lion has returned!” She happily replied. “Impossible!” The woman said. “No, it’s true all the lions are back.” I squeaked out, the woman kinda scared me with all the shouting. She marched up to where I was now standing next to Nova, I leaned back ever so slightly. “And who might you be?” She sneered, she was almost starting to remind me of my mother when I had told her about joining the Garrison. “She’s the pilot of the Violet Lion now, Mom!” “This little girl?” I bit my cheek not to start shouting myself. “Remove your helmet child.” She demanded. I looked at Nova—who at this moment I’m choosing to trust since she’s been defending me a bit—nodded. I sighed and pulled it hold holding it against my hip before looking back at the woman. Her eyes widened ever so slightly, she gasped and took a slight step back. “It can’t be…” She mumbled. “What?” I asked. She grabbed my checks and turned my head looking at me. “Mom?” Nova asked. The woman in front of me broke down in tears and hugged me close, well this is certainly a change. “I can’t believe you’re finally home,”

After having changed back from our paladin gear everyone gathered back into the control room, we were all surrounding Pidge’s chair watching her work on trying to decipher the information we’d taken from Sendak and the Ship that had landed on Arus. 

“You know I don’t think your father would approve of searching through and enemy’s memories,” Coran looked at Allura. 

“I know but we have to do everything we can to defeat Zarkon,” She reasoned with him. 

“Once we learn his weaknesses we can drive up to his front door and challenge him to a fight,” Lance cockily said,  “Winner gets the universe,” Everyone glared at him. 

“Anything good Pidge?” Shiro asked. 

“We need anything we can get,” I said. 

“We don’t even have a decent map of the empire,” Keith said. 

“Who needs a map, after 10,00 years of conquering I could probably fire my bayard in any direction and hit a ship,” Lance crossed his arms. 

“If we could find some troop locations or supply routes easy hit and run targets we could start freeing planets,” Shiro said. 

“Borning~ I want the big kaboom!” Lance pumped his fists up. 

“He’s had 10,000 years to build an empire we can’t tear it down overnight, especially not with six inexperienced pilots and a support ship hitting him where he lives would be a huge mistake,”

“Okay after having cross-referencing Sendak's memories with the downed ship one thing kept repeating something called a ‘Universal Station’” 

“Universal Station? Like a station that controls the universe,” 

“We are translating it from Galra so it could also just as easily mean Galactic hub,” She explained.

“I’ll pull up the location on the screens,” Coran pulled up an image of what seemed to be two planets and a large space rock? But no base to be seen. 

“There’s nothing there!” Lance complained. 

“We aren’t picking up anything on our scanners either,” Coran said. 

“Maybe he remembered it wrong?” Keith questioned. 

“Or we just stumbled upon a top-secret base in Sendak’s memories,” Pidge explained. 

“Only one way to find out for sure,” I said. 

“Let’s go take a look,” Allura piloted us towards the location but kept the ship far enough away not to be picked up.

“Seems the two planets warp the electron emission spectrum enough to keep the base off our deep space scanners,”

“So you can only see it if you know where to look,” Pidge said, we watched the base for a moment. 

“This base must handle shipments from all over the Galra Empire,” 

“If it’s just some airport where shipments come and go why is it hidden?” I asked. 

“There’s gotta be more to it then we’re seeing,” 

“We will have to go down to take a look,” Allura said, “We will need to enter here the central control building” 

“I’m sorry, Princess did you say ‘we’?” Keith asked we all turned to look at Allura.

“I’m going with you I’ve traveled through the transportation hubs many times with my father before the war began, I know more about them than any of you,” She explained. 

“Princess, I’d rather you stay here,” Coran pleaded. 

“I’m just as much a part of this fight as the rest of you. I’m going. Does anyone have a problem with that?” She looked at each of us everyone just turned away, though you could tell we all had a problem with her going we just didn’t know what to say. 

Finally, Shiro spoke, “I don’t have a problem with it,” everyone was shocked except Allura who was quite happy. Everyone suited back up and met in the green lion, at some point Pidge had added the tech from the invisible maze to it for cloaking. We were successfully able to hide her lion before exiting to take over the control room. 

We snuck in Shiro took out the Galra soldier while Lance took out the two Sentries. Pidge hooked up to the system I helped Lance drag the busted Sentries out of site. I sat next to Pidge when Hunk started to talk about a joke we heard in class. 

“Hey, guys sorry to interrupt but I think we got company,” Keith warned we all ducked under the desks when a call came in. 

“I think he’s waiting for a signal,” I whispered. 

“I got it,” Hunk dragged out one of the Sentries and did some weird hand gestures which seemed to work because the call ended. 

“Okay, download complete,” Pidge announced. 

“What’s it say?” Keith asked. 

“Nothing. This place doesn’t have any useful information. Just a schedule of the ships coming in and out.” 

“Well, this was a bust,” Lance said. 

“Let's get back to the castle,” Shiro said. 

“Wait Pidge do you know where that ship is heading?” Allura asked. 

“Uh… it's scheduled to be here for about half an hour, then head back to central command,” 

“That’s where they have the information we need, I’m going in,” Allura announced. 

“What? No way!” Lance shouted. 

“It’s too dangerous,” I tried to reason with her. 

“How are you going to get in?” Keith asked. 

Allura pulled off her helmet, “I’m going to walk right through the front.” She shifted to look just like a Galran soldier minus the uniform. Everyone was amazed and questioned her about this power which she explained. 

“I’m going with you,” Shiro said. 

“You’ll stick out like a Choferiak’s Nose,” 

“You’re going to need that nose Princess, Shiro’s arm is the only thing we can use to interface with Galra tech,” Pidge explained. After we devised a plan to get Shiro on board with Allura they were on their way. We watched from the control room when they were stopped. I held my breath and sighed out when they made it on. 

“What do you think is in all those containers?” Keith asked.

“I suspect that its sporks,” Hunk said. We all just glanced at him, “They’re an advanced species surely they’ve realized its useless to have two utensils when one can easily do the job,” He explained. While we were watching Shiro and Allura Pidge had apparently hooked up to one of the Sentries, however, it shut down. 

“Whoa, check out this guy,” Keith said, we turned back to see a scary looking dude in a cloak. 

“He might be apart of the reason that the base is being kept a secret,” I said. 

“I’m gonna go check it out,” Keith said. 

“How about we lay low and you don’t blow our cover?” Lance said but Keith didn’t listen. 

“I’m going with you,” I said. 

“(Y/n) not you too! Don’t walk through that door!” Lance yelled but I had already followed Keith out. 

“You don’t need to come with me I’m fine on my own,” He told me. 

“Yeah well like Lance said we don’t want to blow our cover besides I can fire my weapon from long distance,” I said. 

“Fine, just don’t get hurt,” He kept ahead of me as we followed the scary dude. They were leading the containers inside the base. Just as the doors were about to close we both made it in and followed at a distance. Keith and I took out the two guards and walked towards a room that had a lot of those containers. I knelt down close to the wall while Keith stood behind me and peaked out. 

“What is this?” I whispered and watched what the scary dude did with one of the containers. 

“Coran you need to see this,” Keith said as we sent a live feed to the ship and to Pidge, Lance and Hunk. In our helmets, we heard the Sentry explain that it was quintessence. “Guy’s I’m going to steal some of this Quint-whatever,” Keith said and runoff. 

“Keith!” I whisper shouted following him. Keith hid behind the first set of walls while I was behind the second. “Keith you shouldn’t be that close he could see you,” I said. 

Keith grabbed one of the containers and hid on the other side. At first, it seemed like the guy didn’t notice but when Keith turned back to look at the guy appear behind the wall in front of him I fired an arrow at him but he had already blasted Keith back making him drop the container. I ran out to help Keith attack the guy, but he was too quick and kept disappearing. 

“Stay back!” He told me 

“And leave you to fight this dude alone no way!” I shouted the guy focused his attacks on Keith, I aimed an arrow at him and fired when he thought he got Keith. The guy blocked Keith’s next attack and threw him back. “Keith are you okay?” I asked flying over to him. “Your hand!” I gasped, “Pidge we need an extraction now!” I said. The guy kept attacking us as we flew around the room. We had made it onto the conveyor belt thing and both readied our weapons the guy was about to attack but the green lion came just in time it destroyed the container splashing both Keith and I, in the quintessence we ran into the green lion's mouth. I turned to look at Keith. He was looking at his hand which healed. “How’d that happen?” I said his hand was completely healed. We joined the other in the head as we rescued a pod that Allura and Shiro were in. But only Shiro came up. 

“Where’s Allura?” Lance asked as Shiro kept his gaze down. 

“She sacrificed herself to save me,” He explained.

“So she’s still on that ship?” Pidge asked. 

“The one about to head back to central command?” Hunk said. 

“The place that’s way too dangerous for us to attack?” Keith added okay now they’re just making him feel worse. 

“We can’t let Zarkon get Allura,” 

“But you’re the one who said attacking there would be a mistake,” I said.  

“I know, but now we don’t have a choice.”  Tag List~

We flew back to the castle in complete silence, no one really knew what to say. We walked into the control room where Shiro told Pidge to scan the download. I went over with Pidge and Hunk to help them. Pidge sent the image of Zarkon’s ship and one of the warship designs on the screen. 

“So we form Voltron get in get out and dust off our hands,” Lance said like it was that easy. 

“Uh, do you guys not remember the Balmera? We could barely take out a fleet,” Hunk said, “This place could hold a thousand fleets,” 

“Or maybe we shouldn’t go at all we’d be delivering the universes only hope to the universe's greatest enemy,” 

“Keith that’s cold even for you, what if it was one of us?” Hunk asked. “I’m just thinking like a paladin,” He tried to defend himself.

“No you’re just thinking of yourself because you’re too scared to do what’s right,” Lance accused. 

“We’re all just worried because we lost Allura,” Pidge tried to defuse the argument which only grew from there and honestly it was getting annoying until Hunk managed to stop it. 

“Okay lets focus, how are we gonna get Allura?” Shiro asked. We all split up to our chairs to analyze the data we had and find a way in. From looking at the diagrams I don’t think there really is. However, Coran had an idea, we wormhole the ship onto a planet near Central Command, scan for Allura, and grab her. However, we’d be trapped if we don’t get her. 

The plan was in motion we found Allura in the main ship. 

“Alright, guys we’re going to come in quick smash through Zarkon’s ship and grab Allura before they know what hit them and be on our way,” Shiro explained. We formed Voltron and went in for the attack.

“What is that?” Hunk asked referring to the purple-ish barrier surrounding all around Central Command. 

“I don’t know, but hopefully we will find a way out once we have the princess,” Pidge said. We started punching and smashing through the ships with the sword. Then several more went in for an attack but we used the shoulder cannon to take them all out. 

We flew closer to Zarkon ship but something weird happened we were all stuck and unable to move Voltron at all.

“What’s going on?” I asked though I knew no one else would know. We had no idea why we couldn’t move until all the lions were thrust apart. “What happened?” Lance asked. 

“I don’t know but we got bigger problems at the moment,” I said, turning to see several warships, and fighter planes launching at us. 

“Why do I have the feeling these guys knew we were coming?” Keith asked rhetorically. 

We flew towards the ships to fight them each taking out a few successfully without lasers but they just kept coming. Then they were shot by a blue beam, followed by “Coran Attack!” over our intercoms “I’ve waited 10,000 years for that!” Coran proudly states. I honestly couldn’t help but smile as we all cheered happily for the help. I didn’t hear one voice in though and that was Shiro. I continued to attack ships while looking for him, “Shiro are you okay?” Keith asked. 

“Something’s overriding the controls my lions not responding,” He screamed. “Shiro’s in trouble,” Keith said, “I’m going in!” Keith flew towards the ship. “What do we do now guys?” Hunk asked “Our plan isn’t really going well as planned,” 

“I’m going for the Black lion, you guys get the Princess now,” Shiro ordered. “I’ve identified Allura’s exact location, uploading now, I’ll provide cover fire, out here… all alone against an entire fleet,” Coran said. 

“You guys get the Princess without me,” Keith said. 

“Keith, don’t be stupid, we need to stick together!” I yelled at him. 

“What are you doing?” Lance asked.

“Whatever I can,” He responded vaguely. I internally groaned, he was going to be reckless… again. Then I hear Coran yelling at Keith to not engage with Zarkon… yep… definitely being reckless. 

We found the spot where Allura was being held, as we quickly discussed options of hacking the system to free her. 

“We don’t have time for that!” Hunk shouted. 

“You gotta better idea?” I asked. 

“Actually I might!” He rammed his lion into the ship. Fighters started to surround us. 

“Looks like we gotta cover Hunk’s butt!” Lance shouted the three of us shot at the fighters to destroy them Hunk escaped with the Princess and Shiro returning Shiro to his lion and the Princess to the castle. We all flew back to the Castle into the hangers so we could wormhole out. 

We couldn’t though as the barrier that they’d originally dropped blocked us, we were in major trouble, but then the barrier malfunctioned, and Allura created a wormhole. 

“Coran, what’s happening?” Shiro asked. 

“The integrity of the wormhole has been compromised we have no control over where we're heading!” The castle shook violently throwing myself and the others out of the castle and out of the wormhole screaming.

A/N: I’m legit about to make a reminder on my phone. With moving I’m not even thinking lol. I’m happy I didn’t choose to leave my laptop back cause we’re in my new state at my gran's house for the next almost month and I’m gonna start CNA classes next month.
