5. Do they get along? Why or why not?

Most of the time yes ! Ultimately Vin & Val while having on and off periods do genuinely love each other to some extent. Val didn't like Vincent at first (as commented on by Vin near the end of act1-start of act2) but Val really does miss him when hes gone during the whole of act 1 and they mesh together really well. They have similar values and interests and function with the flow of each other really well but mainly bc they both want very much for this to work out so they try a lot. Almost constantly trying to push through issues even if it means just, pretending things arent happening. When they divorce (spoiler, oops:-/) they take time away from each other but miss each other as friends and coparent really well bc they were so in tuned. (even if i wish Val wasnt so forgiving towards the fact Vincent did kinda fuck her over multiple times to get there)

8. How do they communicate with each other? Are there any recurring phrases or gestures unique to their relationship?

Val is very openly communicative, Vincent is not. Vincent is used to keeping his cards close to his chest so over the years theres times where he fails to communicate properly bc hes too focused on himself.

Unique gestures and phrases, theres many that naturally develop after so many years with the same person but a notable one is that Vincent kisses Val's hand just above her engagement ring to say goodbye a lot.

15. Do they trust each other? Why or why not?

They try to, but given Vincent's pattern of homosexual affairs theres only so much trust they can realistically have. She trusts him with practical things, like finances and would trust him to bury a body if she needed, but doesn't trust him with emotional intimacy as far as she can throw him in the end but in a way that works, she expects him to act out and isn't hurt by it bc sadly its just a part of life for her.
