The alarm goes off in the bedroom. Vincent wakes up and notices that you're missing. He sits up and sees the red stain that has taken your place. Groggily, he makes his way to the bathroom and knocks on the door.
"Um, I'll be out in a minute!" You reply while folding toilet paper into a makeshift pad. "I hope," you mutter to yourself.
"Do you need anything? I saw the bedsheets," Vincent states.
"Oh no, Vinny, I'm so sorry! I wasn't expecting it this early! I'll clean it up, I promise!" You apologize with panic in your voice.
"Don't worry about it, doll. I can get rid of a small bloodstain," he smirks to himself. "Can I come in?"
"Umm," you hesitate as you pull up your new panties. He opens the door before you give him an answer. A gasp escapes you as your wide eyes meet his tired eyes. "I didn't say it was ok!"
Vincent stood in the doorway, not yet entering the bathroom. "Sorry," he muttered, "but you still didn't answer my first question. Do you need anything?" He repeated.
"I didn't bring anything for this," you admit. "Maybe you should take me home." A sense of sadness washes over you. Surely this was not what Vincent had planned for your shared weekend.
"No, it's alright. There's a drugstore nearby. I can buy what you need and we'll be back here in a jiffy," he assures you with a smile. "Don't give up this easily, doll."
You smile back at Vincent. He leaves the doorway and goes to get dressed. As he waits for you to get dressed, he collects your old panties and the bedding to start treating the bloodstains.
At the drugstore, he holds your hand as you pick out what you need. His other hand carries the basket of your items. Sometime between grabbing medicine and a hot water bottle, Vincent sneaks some saltwater taffy into the basket. After you pick out what you need, you start to feel lightheaded and cling on to Vincent's arm.
"Can't get enough of me, huh doll?" He chuckles as be notices your body weight leaning into him. "Let's get you back to my place. You should eat something."
Vincent makes toast while heating up water for the hot water bottle. You drink down the medicine as he carries a tray from the kitchen. He rests the tray on the table and sits next to you on the couch. First, he places the hot water bottle on your lower belly. Then he hands you a plate. Two slices of toast with pats of butter and some jam.
Vincent takes an orange off of the tray and starts peeling it. He places the first orange slice on your plate. "A light breakfast for now. Let me know if you want a bigger breakfast. I know it can be difficult for you to hold food down during this time."
"Thank you, Vinny," you smile before taking a bite of toast.
"Anything for you, princess. Now eat what you can for me." He places half of the orange slices on your plate and starts eating his half. One of his hands makes its way behind you, resting on your lower back. The warmth radiating to your sore muscles.
When you've finished eating, you decide it's time to learn what Vincent had planned for this weekend.
"Vinny, I don't want this to get in the way of what you had planned for us. Are we still on schedule?" You finally ask.
"Relax, doll. This comes first." Vincent leaned in and planted a kiss on your forehead. "Besides, anything that we don't get around to this weekend can be saved for a future weekend."
"Surely this morning isn't going as planned, but we still have the rest of the day to catch up. What did you have scheduled for today?" You place a hand on the hot water bottle, pressing it into your abdomen to relieve some pain.
Vincent lets out a sigh. "I was supposed to take you out for breakfast."
"You didn't plan on making me toast?" You gave a playful pout. "It was so good and I loved how you cut it into little triangle halves. It was so thoughtful of you."
Vincent rubbed the back of his neck. "I'm glad that you liked it, but no, I didn't plan on making you toast. You liked the triangles? It was either that or rectangles. Triangles seemed more fancy."
You giggled. "Yes, I liked the triangles. They were very fancy."
"You're so sweet," he kissed your neck. "Speaking of sweet, I got you something else from the drugstore." He reached into his pocket and took out a piece of saltwater taffy. "A little treat," he said with a wink.
Your face lit up as you gasped. "I haven't had one of these in so long!"
Vincent admired your expression as he unwrapped the candy and brought it to your mouth. You parted your lips and took in the candy.
"See? Today doesn't have to go as planned, or else I would have never thought to buy this for you." He leaned back, into the corner of the couch and gestured for you to join him. You laid down on your side. Your back pressing into his chest, your head under the crook of his neck, and your hot water bottle still on your lower belly. He wrapped his arm around your waist.
"I'm sorry this weekend isn't going as planned," you start to apologize. Your hand rubbing over a cramp in the top of your thigh.
"You don't have to apologize. It's better that you're here where I can take care of you." He removes his hand from your waist to massage the cramp in your thigh. "I wouldn't be able to do this if I took you out for breakfast, could I?"
Your eyelids started to feel heavy. "No, I suppose not." You closed your eyes. "Will you tell me what else you had planned?"
"Only if you promise me that we'll do it another time," he pleaded.
"I promise."
He smiled into your hair. "I was going to take you to the aquarium."
Your heart sunk. "Oh no, I'm so–"
"Shhh," Vincent cut you off. "You promised me we'll go another time, doll. You need to stay in today. You hardly had an appetite for breakfast and by the looks of it, you're ready for a nap. I want to take you there when you're feeling better."
"Is it because I'm bleeding? Do you think the sharks will get me?" You sleepily ask.
"What? No, that's not how that–. You would have to be in the water with the sharks. Sweetheart, do you really think–?" He stammered.
"'M jus' kiddin', Vin," you slur in your tired state. "I know, the water an' the air. Mmm. Tell me again?" You ask, hoping to listen to his voice as you drift off to sleep.
"Of course, doll," he kisses your hair. Vincent starts to explain the differences to you as you quickly fall asleep to his voice, in the comfort of his embrace. He doesn't notice until he's halfway in to his third example. "So if you were at the beach and not in the water–. Doll? Asleep already? I'll finish when you're awake."
He closes his eyes and presses another kiss into you. "I love you," he whispers before falling asleep with you.
