Joseph was sold into slavery by his own brothers and endured many hardships, including imprisonment. Despite the injustice he faced, Joseph trusted God and, when he finally rose to a position of power, he chose forgiveness over revenge. Joseph recognized that God had a greater plan for his life.

Joseph’s forgiveness and understanding of God’s sovereignty over every situation remind us that God can turn even the worst situations for His glory. Romans 8:28 says, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

Story Summary:

Daniel’s adversaries plotted against him by convincing King Darius to issue a decree forbidding prayer to anyone except the king. But Daniel continued to pray openly to God, despite the decree. Because of his faithfulness, God protected Daniel from harm in the lions’ den, showing His power and vindication.

King Saul grew jealous of David and repeatedly sought to kill him. Yet, when David had opportunities to kill Saul, he chose not to. David respected that Saul was God’s anointed king and left judgment to God instead of taking vengeance.

Story Summary:

Haman, a high-ranking official in King Xerxes' court, was filled with hatred towards Mordecai because he refused to bow to him. Haman devised a plan to have Mordecai executed by building a gallows specifically for him. However, God’s providence turned the situation around. In a remarkable twist, Haman was executed on the very gallows he had built for Mordecai.

Esther 7:9-10 - "Then Harbona, one of the eunuchs attending the king, said, 'A pole reaching to a height of fifty cubits stands by Haman’s house. He had it set up for Mordecai, who spoke up to help the king.' The king said, 'Impale him on it!' So they impaled Haman on the pole he had set up for Mordecai."
