The mission had been a brutal one. A high-stakes villain with a nasty quirk that manipulated emotions, leaving everyone on the team feeling wrung out and irritable. Back at the agency, after the debriefing, Izuku and Katsuki had retreated to their shared office, a silent agreement passing between them.
You found them like this: Izuku perched on the edge of the desk, his normally bright green hair a little disheveled, while Katsuki leaned against him, buried in his boyfriend's shoulder. Katsuki's spiky blond hair was even more chaotic than usual, and you could feel the residual tension radiating off him even from the doorway. He was usually the first to snap after a tough fight, but now he was just... still.
"Rough day?" you murmured, stepping in and closing the door softly behind you.
Izuku looked up, offering a tired but warm smile. "You could say that. Katsuki's been a little overwhelmed by the emotional backlash from the villain's quirk."
You nodded, understanding. You'd felt some of it yourself, a lingering sense of unease that was hard to shake. Walking over, you gently ran a hand through Izuku's hair, then rested it on Katsuki's back, feeling the tremor of his muscles beneath his jacket.
"Come here, both of you," you said softly, nudging Izuku slightly so he'd make room. He shifted, and Katsuki, sensing your presence, made a soft grunt of acknowledgment without lifting his head.
You settled in beside Izuku on the desk, pressing yourself against him, and he immediately wrapped an arm around your waist, pulling you closer. Katsuki, still clinging to Izuku, now had a new anchor. You could feel his tension slowly start to ease as he leaned into the warmth of both of you.
"Just breathe," you whispered, stroking Katsuki's back. "It's over now. You're safe."
Slowly, carefully, Katsuki began to unwind. His grip on Izuku loosened, and he finally lifted his head, his crimson eyes a little unfocused but calmer. He looked at you, then at Izuku, a faint frown on his face.
"Stupid quirk," he grumbled, but it lacked its usual bite.
Izuku chuckled softly, pressing a kiss to Katsuki's temple. "It was, but we handled it. And now we're home."
You leaned your head against Izuku's shoulder, your other hand finding Katsuki's and lacing your fingers through his. The three of you sat there for a while, a comfortable silence settling over the room, broken only by the soft rustle of papers on the desk. You felt Izuku's chest rise and fall steadily against your back, and Katsuki's hand tightened just a fraction around yours.
It was in moments like these, after the chaos and danger of their hero work, that you truly appreciated the quiet intimacy of your shared life. The world outside could be a whirlwind of villains and destruction, but here, in this office, surrounded by the scent of old paper and the comforting presence of your two incredible boyfriends, everything felt right.
Eventually, you heard a soft snore escape Katsuki. He'd finally drifted off, completely exhausted. Izuku looked at you, a tender smile on his face.
"Looks like he's finally winding down," he whispered.
You smiled back, leaning in to press a kiss to Izuku's lips. "Good. He deserves it. We all do."
You stayed there for a long time, the three of you intertwined, finding solace and peace in each other's presence. The stress of the mission slowly melted away, replaced by the quiet hum of shared love and belonging. You closed your eyes, feeling content, knowing that no matter what the world threw at them, you always had each other to come home to.
