WHO: @viktor-liddell WHEN: Evening / Kaan's break WHERE: Camden Market
Wednesdays were usually slow nights at work, the lull between Tuesday karaoke and the start of the weekend rush. It hadn't been hard to keep all three bars stocked; the bartenders had plenty of time for each customer and didn't need backup; and the garnishes Kaan had prepped at the beginning of his shift would probably be enough to last all night. Even if business picked up a little later, he doubted he'd have much to do the second half of his shift besides refill ice as it melted and slide the occasional tray of glassware into the dishwasher.
That was why he'd taken himself on a walk as soon as his break started, getting more steps in through a quick circle of Camden Market's perimeter than he'd been able to at work. If he had time after he ate, he'd walk around again. But the restaurant stalls were getting crowded as dinnertime approached, and as he took his bowl of mix-and-match Thai food to a seating area on the water, it was hard to find an empty table. That was why, when someone approached, he kicked the chair across from him out a little in invitation. "Need a place to sit, mate?"
