I forgot to post this earlier. Bought this Lapis moon as a a pendant with just a gold plated band and bail fixed to it. Just KNEW it needed something silver, like a touch of lace. Finally gave up on procrasticleaning and organizing and double checking years of reciepts for accurate price tagging of my ENTIRE gemstone hoard... and then I got to work. I’ve only been talking about wire wrapping it for months now. I was SO afraid of chipping or otherwise damaging it beyond repair once I had enough wire and time invested into it to be basically devistating... 😂 My palms and fingers were sweating the whole time I wrapped this thing. So, it has 18 inches ish (probably closer to 20) of 20gauge wire and at least 6 feet of 26 gauge wire, and three jumprings for the bail in 18 gauge. All sterling silver. 5 hours of work start to finish. My fingers are a tiny bit sad. This viking wire weaving looks like lace, but its’ no joke. It’s like pulling a needle through a few layers of super tough leather... for hours.. and each stitch has to be uniform to the one before it, and before you move onto the next stitch, because they build... don’t ask about my manicure. 😂 The wire gnawed up my fingers and my nails. I love how this turned out. This is why artists make things. It is good for their souls. Other people often like art because they identify with it. So, here’s to the dreamers of sweet dreams.
