cosplay of the day: Booker DeWitt again!

ended up going to the con alone, and decided to take the train from a different station than usual, where

an older german couple asked me for help with tickets for the train to the airport

while I was trying to help them up, this norwegian lady came over and asked me what train to take to the airport

at this point, the germans realised the ticket machine would not accept their card

and I realised that I'd have to go buy a ticket for my train

I told the german woman that I had to go, but good luck with the tickets! at which point she stared at me, not comprehending. I repeated the sentence. She stared at me some more.

"You don't work here?" she asked, finally.

"No," I said. I was wearing a costume and a backpack, and before they asked me to help them out, I'd been listening to music on my ipod. "No, I do not."

She stared at me, and did not speak. I told her good luck again and went to buy a ticket.

after I'd bought the ticket, a guy came up to me and asked for help. I said "uhhh ok" and he paused and looked at me again. "Wait, do you work here?"

cosplay of the day: Shion (No. 6)

met up with endlesslyuniverse (cosplaying Isabela and doing it pretty damn well) and her coolkid friends at their hotel!

feet thoroughly plastered with a combination of gears of war and cars bandaids to avoid death by new shoes

the most stereotypically dudely decked-out feet of ALL TIME

at the con we met a friend who took japanese with us (and went to Japan the year before me) and her boyfriend - she cosplayed Noiz from DMMD and pulled it off in style (although Noiz, bless his trashbaby heart, would probably not have laughed as much)

met linnpuzzle again! (yo check out her stuff it is really cool and she draws things from a lot of different fandoms!)

got hugged by some strange babbies

they were adorable

one of them was dressed up as Jack Frost

had brief and shifty eye contact with another Shion, like neither of us could decide which of us was real

at some point managed to spot the rare and elusive vikinged!

neck makeup bled red all over my shirt

realised around eight that I hadn't eaten anything all day? whoops

took wig off, tasted freedom

had a Moment with girl Aladdin

got two hugs from girl Aladdin

she was so cute???

came home and looked like a strangulation victim with a sunburn on half my face because

my favorite female character: oh wow, this is one of those shows where I’m honestly not sure I can answer this question? I just. I love all the ladies! If I have to choose I’d maybe pick Sarah. She fights hard, she’ll drink soap or kick down vents to save herself, and she loves her daughter even if she’s not always good at staying. And she’s learning how to stay, she’s teaching herself how to not run away out of necessity. I just. Sarah. What a good character.

my favorite male character: Felix! It’s ridiculous how much easier this question is, haha. But yeah, Felix.

my favorite book/season/etc: Uh, that’s hard to answer! I think the show really, really started to work for me the moment we actually started to get to know the other clones, so … everything but the first couple of episodes? (Which is not to say the first episodes weren’t good.)

my favorite episode (if its a tv show): don’t make me choooseeee

my favorite cast member: Tatiana Maslany. how does she do all that with her face

my favorite ship: tbh all the romance in orphan black makes me super nervous because of the constant threat of someone being a monitor! I’m … anxiously into Cosima/Delphine. Sarah/Paul is terrible and so I’m very into that. Also, Alison <> Felix forever.

a character I’d die defending: Pretty much all the main clones? (But do they really … need defending?)

a character I just can’t sympathize with: The religious cult people this season have been horrifying. Also, the guy who raised Helena. Also, the agent from the latest episode. (side note: I find it interesting that pretty much all the antagonists but Rachel and Helena (who is not so much antagonist, especially not this season, as an incredibly damaged individual) are dudes. Heyyyy.)

a character I grew to love: Alison? I wasn’t particularly disliking her at first, but she’s set up in a way that makes her deliberately unlikeable, (especially to Sarah,) and it’s been really cool to see how quickly that changes.
