Ainara Trevallen is an Historian from Piltover. She grew up in privilege, but as a scholar she didn't let herself be blind to what existed beyond the bridge.

Her work often led her down paths that Piltover’s high society deemed controversial. Her insistence on exposing uncomfortable truths earned her a reputation as eccentric at best, and at worst a radical, despite her shy reserved nature.

This hunger for thruth was inspired by her late paternal grandmother, a Zaunite woman who never let her forget where part of her bloodline came from. She filled Ainara's childhood with stories about the Undercity and it's people. Stories of struggle and resilience that the Piltover council preferred to ignore.

Determined to help bring Zaun’s cause to light Ainara traveled to the undercity to conduct her own research. But her idealism quickly clashed with harsh reality. After paying someone to guide her through the Lanes she was abandoned in one of the rougher areas. Alone and out of place, she was mugged. Fortunately for her the attackers happened to owe a debt to Silco. Sevika appeared to collect and in doing so unintentionally saved Ainara. It was not a friendly first encounter. Sevika had no patience for idealistic Piltie scholars wandering into Zaun as if it were a research site. Still, Ainara didn’t run away screaming like any sane Piltie would, and even terrified, she stood up and met Sevika’s gaze. That foolish courage, paired with her reasons for being in Zaun, was just enough to make Sevika intrigued.
