sorry this took so long to reply to but i finally got around to cows again.

western cattle are very much an arrangement of rectangles. their topline is straight and angular contrasted by their flabby skin and wrinkles, then you see them from the front or back and they’re round?? the best way to learn to draw animals is life sketches, I go to our annual agriculture show to see cows. They’re also shaved for the show ring there so i get a clear image of them.

looking at skeletals and anatomy drawings is also helps a lot, i recommend Hermann Dittrich’s lithographs and Jack Hamm’s ‘how to draw animals’

outcrossing! this is what we should be doing to all fucked up dog breeds with physical or other medical disasters. bringing in fresh healthy bloodlines of similar breeds so we can breed out the illness and improve genetic diversity.

this has been done with some dalmatians who have virtually all have hyperuricosuria, a disorder which causes high uric acid buildup that can lead to surgery to remove bladder or kidney stones and must be very painful for the dogs. HU is just caused by a recessive gene that is rare in other breeds, so breeding to any non carrier should stop it from being expressed. in the 70s a breeder crossed a dalmatian with a pointer to produce HU-free dogs. then backcrossed those healthy dogs to other dalmatians(remember it’s recessive) until they had dogs that were indistinguishable from other dalmatians but were healthier, they’re referred to Low Uric Acid dalmatians. it took the AKC until 2011 to finally acknowledge LUAs as full dalmatians because they are obsessed with pure breeding

the problem with pugs and brachycephalic or other exaggerated breeds is that we can’t breed a healthy version of them that looks identical, because the problem is their physical appearance. projects like retromops exist to breed pugs with a longer snout but unfortunately nobody knows about them and they’re very rare. puggles are a designer breed which could loosely fit the definition of an outcross but their end goal is not to make them the new pug.

Hola! primero, perdón por la tardanza jajajaja y segundo, nada que agradecer. Yo y muchos latinxs lo entendemos porque lo vemos, lo vemos en la cara y relatos de cada venezolanx que está en nuestros países. his other dad is kind of......Shit. like yeah he’s the Fun Dad or whatever but that’s him trying to make up for the fact that he’s hardly around and doing nothing to better his relationship with his son. so he just lets him do what he wants and buys him what he wants like that will substitute for actual parental love.

he’s trans. so trans. hugo used to mess up his name and pronouns in the beginning so ernest started calling him Hugo as a sort of “hurts, doesn’t it” and even though hugo’s better with it now part of ernest is still bitter.
