he’s a necromancer right, toys with life essences, shears souls from bodies, raises the dead and stuff while Morta is some-what of a seer?

she’s named/loosely based off of the roman fate Morta, who cuts the thread of life- so she “sees/knows” how everyone around her will eventually die with her many eyes. death in her opinion isn’t that big of a deal because it’s inevitable, it will happen

so enter Viduus- a necromancer with the power to screw with the inevitable fate she sees and bringing souls back from Who Knows Where and she’s probably slapping him with her tail “nO STOP YOU OVERGROWN GECKO the dead stay dead always ok stop”

but then at the same time they’re like some kind of power couple bc she’ll be all “hey this guy is about to die in like, 5 minutes” and Viduus perks up “oh sweet i’ll get the soul scissors”

like wtf how do you two even work

shade usually = death and with my lair being 99.9999% imps the threat of an emperor is almost guaranteed if any mass death were to happen

i mean he is a necromancer of sorts and sure, emperors are disgustingly fascinating to him but life is precious (bc you know, what is a necromancer without some sort of life essence to maniplute + the fact that he needs to be alive)
