App Review: FXGURU Suppose you shot video of your nephew’s 5th birthday party, but the results came out predictable and even bland. If you’d like to spice things up with a clip of a T-Rex or a dancing ghost, you’re in luck. All you need is FxGuru, a “free” app that includes scores of visual effects and music. We put the quotation marks around “free” because you can download the app at no cost, and there are several free effects such as the one shown here. But to get access to all of the offerings and certain high quality settings, you'll need to pay a modest fee--$.99 for one item; $19.99 for 82 clips. Effects come in nine categories: holiday, horror, weapons, people, sci fi, animals, disasters, vehicles, and ultimate fan. After shooting you can dress up the effects using filters and sounds. @FxGuru app is simple to use, and while the effects don’t rival what you’d get in a Marvel movie, many of them are convincing—especially if used in short clips. And the campier ones will be fine if used for adding humor. #specialeffects #videoappreview https://www.instagram.com/p/ByqL9OyhG2N/?igshid=2ffuossqpphm
