Power of Words: “Drill”
Kori had drilled into her head a million times over that nothing would ever happen to her group of friends.Â
They loved each other, they really did. It was clear they’d do anything for each other, always coming to each others’ defense at a moment’s notice.Â
And yet, there was a piece of her that worried one day they wouldn’t be able to look past each others’ flaws.Â
Dick and Victor could butt heads. They had two strong personalities, both natural leaders, both stubborn. They weren’t quick to apologize, no matter how much Kori tried to prompt it.Â
Raven liked isolation, and although Kori knew she’d never trade away their friendship for it, she still worried. What if one day one of them prodded too far? Would Raven shut them out permanently?Â
And then Gar, silly, immature Gar. She knew none of their friends meant any harm, but she also knew some of their mocking hurt his feelings. He’d never admit it, and he’d always laugh it off, but she knew. The word annoying was used far too much, and she couldn’t help but wonder if he’d eventually take it to heart and never come back.Â
She had her own flaws. Her confusion of the culture, her constant questions and inquiries. Her talkative nature, oblivious as to when to not dig any deeper.Â
It was silly to think, but sometimes she thought Tara was an omen. Obviously the blonde saw all their flaws and thought they outweighed the good. Was it only a matter of time before the rest of the group crumbled, too?
