When: Present Day (Game Time) Where: The Ministry - Rodolphus’ Office With: Rodolphus @viciousvisage

Evan enjoyed stopping by the ministry. He was a familiar face to so many there that it was easy to stop in and update many sources of information. He’d mad his way through the second floor and spoken with a few Aurors, some members of the law offices and considered heading up to Magical Games to chat with a few acquaintances up there but he’d been recieved some news last night that he suspected Rodolphus would want to here. The Dark Lord would likely be very pleased if Rodolphus brought the Goblins to their side, and he trusted the other to ensure Evan’s role was made abundantly clear. After that? Well, surely he’d be given something new to play with; the Dark Lord offered to most exquisite toys for him.  

No matter how long she’d been in the Manor, there was always a new place to discover. It seemed easy enough to do so, when one had enough time, but even Bellatrix’s sleepless nights didn’t make it possible. She could, at least, try.

There was vitality in the news circulated, Dearborn, a filthy blood traitor, finally paying repentance for his sins. She couldn’t have ever understood it; perhaps some people were not born to grace the world with crowns on their heads; perhaps purity was a bitter taste to some. Those people, she affirmed, were poison- and if not poison themselves had been poisoned by a society who catered to the weak and helpless and very easily ignored those deserving of being at the top.

The sparse hallway before her did not hold much comfort for Bellatrix. The dimming lights and stillness of the cold air felt like a deafening silence, a sudden thud to her fast-paced life. Rodolphus, she understood, had a strong role in this stroke of victory; she wouldn’t dare hold him back from the glory and neither did she expect him to do the same to her, had she been in this position. Instead she quarrelled with the notion of sleep in the only room that sought some comfort for her; the library.

Expansive as it was, Bella couldn’t help but find herself staring into the fireplace, at the licking embers which manifested within.

Sleep was for the weak, and that was something she wasn’t.

An almost relieved sigh heaved her from her thoughts as she heard the soft sounds of an arrival.

Bellatrix trailed her fingertips along the edges of the crystal goblets, the ringing noise piercing her eardrums at just the wrong note. The house elf setting out the silverware visibly cringed and hurried from the room. The black haired witch continued her activity seemingly without notice. Slumped over the head of the table, staring out over the empty china and full serving dishes of food gone cold, she slumped backwards in her chair. Intentionally aggravating the house elves had grown old hours ago, as had picking cherries off the dessert plate and carefully flicking them into the decorative marble vases at the other end of the room.

“Noory!” The Black woman hollered over her shoulder and the tiny and yet rotund house elf came skittering into the room, silently awaiting orders. “I want to send a howler to my betrothed.” She drawled languidly. “If he’s going to be this late for dinner, he’s going to hear about it.” A smile curved her lips as she imagined the obscene message it might scream at him in a room filled with overly composed white haired wizards who all fancied themselves smarter than one another. 

It was, at that approximate moment, that the large door to the dining room opened to present the exact man she had been discussing. Raising one eyebrow to admire him from hooded eyes, she remained draped languidly over her chair, giving no sign of excitement.
