Smash fans get me heated. If you know anything about smash drama then you know how Smash World Tour shut down and the Panda Cup shut down because of some drama between Nintendo, the Panda CEO, and VGBootCamp (the ones running Smash World Tour).
Because of a lot of miscommunication between tournament organizers, Alan (the Panda CEO), and Nintendo a lot of people blamed Alan for Smash World Tour's cancellation. This incited a lot of harassment on Panda as a whole and to mitigate that harassment Alan stepped down as CEO and left the company. Alan was marked as the evil man who cancelled tournaments for his own greed.
Alan has since shared his side of the story in full with both a written response and a Q&A on a podcast. Not going into details, but it turns out Alan is not the evil greedy man people made him out to be and he's not the reason why Smash World Tour got cancelled.
Wanna know who to blame? Nintendo.

Any smash fan that harassed Panda employees including Alan as well as anyone spreading misinformation that Alan was entirely at fault even though Alan cannot control Nintendo's decisions.
Congratulations smash fans. You ruined the lives several people, many of which weren't even involved in the situation, all because you raise pitchforks over assumptions instead of waiting for solid proof. Good fucking job.
I've known this hard working dude for so many years. We have travelled to so many events together, with the same goal, try to grow the #SmashBros community. He was always on production with the rest of his team, while I'd be on the mic with a fellow co-caster. I'll never forget 2014 and 2015 when I nearly hit 50 weeks of commentating Smash at events. We were the no days off crew. Even in this day and age where there are broadcasting groups and more casters taking the load from us, we still find time to come out and show support in numerous ways. Big shoutouts to my fellow Super Smash Con Smashies Sakurai Award Winner @vgbc_gimr !!! He won the award this year, while I received it last year. One of the smartest cats in the game, and always a visionary. We can sit down for ten minutes, have a conversation, and out of nowhere a new idea is conceptualized. These are the best kind of friends to have because not only do we come up with ideas, we execute on them. I’ve been spending a bunch of my free time the past couple of days watching gameplay from this tournament. Judging from the full playlist, it’s the biggest tournament for Smash Ultimate yet (unless this one was simply able to stream and record more of the matches.) It’s still really big regardless, with some players from out of the US entering, notably Ally from Canada and MKLeo from Mexico.
