On 6 May, squadron aircraft shot down 2 VPAF MiG-21s with AIM-9s.[6][8] On 16 August F-4J BuNo 157262 was hit by an SA-2, both crewmen CDR J Pitzen and LT O Pender were killed and their remains were identified in November 1994.
