Application Requirements
Below are the requirements to apply to Jefferson State Vet-Tech Program. Jefferson State Community College is the only accredited program in the state of Alabama. People will drive hours to make it to orientations and when asked. I hope that wherever you’re from, that they provide you with a clear outline as this one. It may seem like a lot, but it can be done. I took all the basic required courses close to home. I put in bold the route I took.

The additional admissions requirements are just as important. I went from volunteering at a clinic every Friday since May 2016 through December that year. I made the leap to becoming a full-time employee that same December because I wanted more responsibilities at the clinic. I worked hard and cleaned every mess in front of me, but as a volunteer there’s a hesitation in allowing me to care for the animals. I couldn't aid in treatments, radiology, and other tasks involving the patient’s care. I was hesitant about big change, but now I’m able to learn so much even before school starts.
