i’m screaming it’s like people are literally getting mad at you for saying that the book came before the film. like. they’re literally getting mad at you guys for saying that the source material, the whole reason the subpar films even EXIST, shouldn’t be ignored or invalidated just because movie fans have only watched the movies. like, if the films had created a whole new character named skippy mcgee, would movie fans insist that skippy was actually in the book the whole time lmao???
one of them isn’t even a movie only fan, they’ve read the book and uh. think richie is straight? and their friend who hasn’t read the book interprets eddie as bi bc he has a wife? and also is angry people would ever ever call richie anything other than gay regardless of what version of canon they prefer? this is the most baffling sexuality discourse i’ve ever seen in this fandom.
