In a time of social distancing, Zaia’s latest single seems pretty apt.

On ‘VERY ALONE,’ he reflects upon a childhood constantly on the move, the self-described ‘lone wolf’ channelling his angst into soft, nostalgic layers of emo guitar and hypnotic beats. The clip, meanwhile, is all-too relatable, with the Atlanta singer and other social outcasts navigating the ugly world of high school politics,

‘VERY ALONE’ is from Zaia’s new EP of the same name. As he explains (via RESPECT)

‘At some point in life, the only things we are left with are our thoughts and feelings about ourselves and the world we live in. I made this project for the kid whose mom moved around a lot making it impossible to make any friends. The nobody who thinks no one is listening, and the people who stay awake all night trying to put life together. The people like myself. In hopes that they hear from someone that they aren’t alone.’

Back in April, Zaia released the video for ‘INNERSTATE’, which examined the devastating impact of racial profiling and police brutality in the US.
