he’s nervous. ozpin’s request was rather out of the blue and the idea of being his messenger does make him a little upset. but the voice in his head insisted that this is the safest way for neither of them to get hurt. oscar can at least agree on that.

eyes remain trained at the floor. he should be happy that someone is on his side or, at the very least, still loyal to ozpin. but giyuu’s words only go skin deep and oscar is still left feeling completely guilty for things that happened before his time. that is his inheritance, after all, and it’s up to him to make up for past mistakes. that’s what oscar told himself.

his body moves on his own. oscar doesn’t know much about how to handle panic attacks and yet he has a sense of what to do. it’s like instinct – like oz. gloved hands lay on ruby’s shoulders  ( such contact from someone he adores seems to burn through to his palms )  almost like blinders. he’s close, trying to crowd her version, trying to stop her from seeing the manifestation of the weight she carries on her shoulders and in her heart. he knows what it’s like. oh gods, he knows what it’s like. but only in his dreams can he hope to be as strong as ruby. that’s why he knows she can overcome this.
