Another one on my list is Litaโs Bitney San Junipero AU. Fucking phenomenal. And I think the really thrilling part is that since I just spent a weekend bullying her into finishing it, *and* she decided that will include a rewrite, I WILL get to read it again for the first time. Candy Cane is an amazing writer, and when I read their Bitney fic Solid Ground for the first time, I was so incredibly emotional. It's just beautiful and touching and sad and the characterization is perrrrfect and I love it so much. ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ

I sending an ask like everyone else to be relatable, lol. I have to give a shout-out to one of the most incredible oneshots I've read in a really long time, Grinder's Afterthought. It's lesbian Adorney, but really Adore's story. The literary style is incredible, with time skips handled so elegantly, heartbreaking angst and cheeky humor and a narrative voice that manages to be both incredibly Adore but also really distinctive to Grinder--and the blend is stunning. Love love love.
I should also add that I usually don't have the patience to read super long oneshots all in one go but for this one I was riveted. ๐

Fic dream: it was a very elaborate fake dating au, where the 2 main characters were on a spaceship, and they were whistleblowers investigating some kind of scandal/corruption. Because all parts of the ship were under surveillance, they would use the cover of a secret affair to communicate. (So that they could whisper to each other without arousing suspicion.) I've never written a fake dating au but I woke up thinking it could be cute, lol.
I would actually love if someone wrote this. For a dream, it seems shockingly coherent.
(Also to clarify, the spaceship setting is optional, it only matters that it's a place where they feel like they might be watched and can't speak openly.) ๐
