Value Me (Nadia and Verlee?)
The dragon was in their larger form, scales glistening in the sunlight, a hint between red and bronze that occasionally gave the illusion of lava spilling over their form. Lowering their head, they snaked their neck around Nadia and grunted softly to usher her in closer to their body. They were warm to the touch, almost too much, but that was understandable given what they were.
"You're sure..?" Nadia looked a bit nervous, holding the dagger in one hand.
"I trust you little wizard." Verlee spoke softly and lifted their neck up so she could slide it along their scales.
Her hands trembled faintly at first and they ended up lifting a foreclaw to assist in pressing it down and inwards. There was a slight wince when the pain sank in and Nadia caught first the scale and then hurried to catch the thick droplets of dragon blood that came from the wound. It would quickly heal over and she didn't want to waste this.
"Verlee.. why are you letting me.. do this? I told you I could use other reagents."
"Other reagents, yes. But it would take longer. And would not be as potent." The dragon spoke softly and angled a wing to bring it around Nadia to help to shade her from the sun so she could better focus on putting away the gifts they gave her. "As I said, I trust you. In the spells that you will cast using this, and in gathering what you need. I trust you. You are clever and honest and that is honestly not something that is often seen in wizards. I want to encourage that if I can."
