Okay, sounds like what we used to do on an email listserv back in the late 90s, except that it's public, and the players' "actions" are reblogs instead of replies. I've got to admit that the whole reply-via-reblog system seems a little clunky to me. That's an aspect of Tumblr I am still having trouble coming to terms with. :~(
Yes! Exactly! And yeah, tumblr-formated RP definitely isnât for everyone. I started out in forum-based RPing, and stumbled across a couple rp blogs on here years ago when I first joined, and it took a bit of watching to really get used to how it works on here. But itâs definitely something you can learn to navigate around. (and having x-kit helps so much thanks to the tweaks/fixes it provides)

I'm not so old that I don't understand that rp stands for roleplay. I'm just not sure how you roleplay in a blog format.
ah, forgive me. i didnât quite understand what you were asking before.
rping on tumblr is pretty similar to rping in a forum-like setting, where you have individual âthreadsâ with another mun. but, instead of just replying like you would in a forum, you reblog and respond that way. if that makes any sense.
if you want an example, you can check out one of my rp blogs here, here or here. (theyâre all once upon a time blogs, but itâll give you an idea of how it works on tumblr.)
