The unfortunate thing about ignoring being hungry is that the hunger gets worse, which is bullcrap in Senriâs opinion. He needs food but getting food requires getting out of bed and getting out of bed requires actually thinking about what is happening. He frankly doesnât want to process any of this at all. Half him was hoping he would wake up back in his or Koharuâs room (preferably Koharuâs) like this had just been some weird dream.Â
Dream. God, was this some kind of weird prank of Itsukiâs? This didnât seem like his usual fare though. Not enough near death experiences and drudging up of emotional problems. Senri guessed the hunger should have been a giveaway, no dream hunger could be this realistic.Â
Okay, food, and then he could come right back here, hopefully. The idea there is no food outside this room forms in his mind but he quickly squashes it. Heâll burn that bridge when he gets there, or is it cross that bridge? Well, burning is better because it reminds him of Koharu.Â
Leaving the bed is a far greater task than he thought itâd be. When he finally succeeds it makes him want to get straight back into bed. Itâs tempting, but the pain in his stomach makes a good argument against that.Â
There is a hall waiting outside the room, which is a good sign. This means there are things that existed outside the room, which seems obvious now, and Senri feels stupid for thinking maybe there was nothing behind the door. Senri really, really, really doesnât want to leave the room, but he also is really hungry. Hunger wins this round.Â
This place reminds him of the Norn, he thinks as he peaks around. It has that general aura. A place meant to be lived in, whether you wanted to live there or not.Â
After wandering around he stumbles into the kitchen, which is both good and bad. Good because that is where food is likely to be. Bad because that food probably needs to be prepared which is not something Senri wants to do at all.
Oh. There is certainly someone else in this kitchen. He sort of forgot other people were a thing, which had been heavenly. So, he isnât alone wherever this is? Of course he isnât, that would just be too good to be true wouldnât it.Â
What does he do? Run? No, he doesnât have the energy for that. Ugh, heâs going to have to talk to them isnât he? Of course he is.Â
âHey,â Senri doesnât look directly at this new person, âDo you know how to cook?â

âSo, tell me,â Miriam speaks in a voice that isnât flippant, but itâs definitely casual, friendly to say the least. Sheâs been fascinated with looks lately, with how people arrange themselves. Subsequently, sheâs been struck with the urge to try and recreate them in her strange, unearthly way. âWhat inspired your look?â Her voice is friendly, bouncing.
âHow pretty!â Katherineâs smile is wan, creeping up and into her quiet expression. Hands clasped, she spends a moment contemplating her words, all while prodding forward. The block is still there despite her pushing and insistent experimenting. Nothing is happening, and sheâs downright furious about it. How dare anything be taken from her? Nobody had a right to do such a thing to a person of her own power.Â
Reaching out, she points to a sleek cat, likely a stray. Despite that, the creature is strutting, head held high and tail swishing. âWhat a grand little creature. Iâd say he looks quite proud of himself, donât you think?â It was sort of amusing. She wasnât much for animals, but the cat had enough of an attitude for her to appreciate.Â
