“this isn’t necessary, yasuo,” the sheriff objected, standing in her casual clothing next to the bar the man sat himself at. despite her words, he ordered a drink for both of them, ones heavy in liquor. eyebrow raised at him when he turned in his stool to face the brunette.

“we both got somethin’ on our mind, we both don’t wanna talk about it,” he started, leaning forward to rest one elbow on his knee && use his other hand to pat the stool beside him. “so let’s drink it out until we both start spoutin’ ‘bout our problems to each other, then we’ll wake up && forget it ever happened.” he talked as if it were so simple, && perhaps it was, but such thinking is what could keep the woman from her work.

if only to sate him, caitlyn sat beside yasuo && took the drink from the bar, sipping it gingerly. that didn’t seem to sit well with the unforgiven. “nah, nah, y’gotta just drink it all, like this.” the man took his glass && near poured the whole thing down his throat, leaving just a bit left at the bottom. “now you.”

If only the sun was crowned, then perhaps the UNFORGIVEN would have beheld a splendid view of Riven rolling her eyes. The exile strode beside the man now, using calloused (albeit petite) hands to sling a rather disappointing shadow of a sword over her shoulder before slipping it into her frivolous idea of a sheath. The makeshift work of leather and rope was a horribly poor fit for the broadsword, a rancorous reminder that Riven would never again wield the luxury of the grand sheath her runic blade deserved. Weathered palms tugged at the cloth that hung haphazardly around a scarred neck, drawing it over feathered ivory hair. A sigh departing from coarse lips birthed a cloud of white in the air before her, mouth growing more and more parched by the second.

Despite the hours thinning further toward midnight, the slums of the closest Ionian city were painted in dim iridescent lights, their faint pigment complimenting the shades of Riven’s cheeks. Shadows lurked in the spaces between settlements, their eyes seeming to glint at the Exile, as if they knew what she had done, as if they knew who she was. Needless to say, fatigued extremities didn’t hesitate to skip a beat, disheveled cloak licking the backs of her heels as she trot ahead of the wanderer.

                       “ Are you more annoying when you’re hungry or are you                          always this way?

                      --- Besides, I don’t think the I’m slow one now.”

She chirped, wine hues flashing with the stifled glow of something akin to challenge. Though the run managed to drain the small remnant of energy the woman reserved for perhaps a moment of peril, the most PERILOUS of foes she could encounter did happen to be the one accompanying her to Dinner.

The silence after the clamor was near formidable, acting almost as if an omen of the calignosity that would follow after the sun that loomed ominously behind her silhouetted figure falls beneath those rippling waves of acreage. For ages it seems she remains standing, appendages resting limply at her side as she simply breathes. Blood soaks through the dressing that conceals daunting scars, and all at once, they are no longer scars. Her forearms blister intensely in the sunlight and she howls, immediately collapsing into a pitiful pile of her. As she cries out from the immense paroxysm that erupts from arms of pure, chemical gore, her body becomes caked in a thick, hot substance; one that pours into her mouth and scalds her throat as it drowns out her lament. Everything is red, a deep, horrible red, the hue of blood and war, the shade of the Butcher’s scarlet eyes boring into her own. 

                               It’s only then that she awakes, lungs convulsing short gasps for air,                                cerise eyes gaping in a state of hysteria. For at least a minute her                                heart is racing, hands clenching at the warmth near and breaths                                rushed and aghast. When coldness settles upon her forehead she                                does as well, a small but sturdy body resting limply in the arms of                                her reviver. A soothing voice hums in her ears as she lays, the only                                sensations she feels being that of precise extremities tending to the                                expanses of Riven that ache. 

                               The same digits intertwine within the Exile’s and his aura is a                                halcyon nest that surrounds her and holds her.
