trust is but wholesome optimism , especially surrounded / daemon infested , there’s nothing but hesitance brimming & he’s the overflow of it. but he speaks ( despite reluctant ) in stifled truth , at least somewhat confident in his skill as a Glaive - if there was anything he was good at—it was the ability to wing it , so he’s gonna do just that.

                            “ can’t guarantee we’ll get out of here alive. but——“

     it’d be an understatement , to say the least— that he was taken aback by a seize of scarlet brims in opposing bare. the dragoon’s got her way of being ‘ covert ‘ despite how adroit his foresight & attentive lain— or maybe there was an exception where he’d let her elude from it. still , he returns the sudden kiss , encircling her within his arms —  because he’s missed her through the endless frays & the lack of her— parting just enough space for him to speak ,

         “ missed me that much , ‘nea? “

selfless etched ; it’s spoken in Her history—unbeholden , showering feeble believers in promising faith— yet , selfish was He to allow those words to take grasp at his chest with mourning. to hear those words a thousandfold , to see the leap of sacrifice to those thousandfold soldiers—she would be no different from them & he knows that all too well.

words stifle at his tongue while he thinks , just what was Happiness for him? the peace? the quiet? a warless era?— then abrupt thought arises & so does a covert grin that lifts along it. if there was some kind of defiance of fate— if there was any ‘ Happiness ‘ in this Kings’ forsaken  Eos— it’d be something like Her. maybe she is Hope. but what he speaks isn’t brazen ,

“ you know what’d make me happy—— knowin’ you’ll be alright by the end of all this. “

“I’m fine. Little sick but don’t worry. It is harmless… And… yeah I’m boring…” He makes a break and speak again. “Nyx, what you mean with peachy?”

“ sick? you should get that checked out. never know if it could be somethin’ serious. but — it’s alright. bein’ a king isn’t all about bein’ fun. “  a state of reassurance , a kings’ job is a heavy burden & he knows - he speaks from the experience of the former. though , “ y’know. wall duty —— pretty fun thing. everyone just loves to talk about each other. “ is jested & a light laugh ensues before a heavy silence. . .
