I do.  Again, this is the kind of thing we’ve seen from them all along.  Anything they can convince themselves supports their ship is good and valid and important - anything that doesn’t is irrelevant or absolute trash.  Dean being beaten up and slandered was a-okay or even good when they were annoyed he wasn’t switching his codependent allegiance from Sam to Cas.  But now that they can use it as a further justification for why they hate the finale, suddenly they care about Dean being devalued?  Pull the other one, it’s got bells on.

And then I saw you wasn’t anon, and if you hadn’t put the thing on the end about being unanon I was going to message you privately in case the anon button didn’t work.)

While Sam and Dean’s love isn’t exactly healthy a lot of the time, there’s no denying that it is actually, truly, love. Their lives could have gone both ways, but they chose to love each other.

For some people, growing up in close quarters, and giving up their childhood to take care of a sibling, has ended in resentment (I’ve legitimately seen it happen in my life; it didn’t end with them being close the way Sam and Dean’s situation did). Dean could have chosen to resent Sam, to hate him, to want no part of “take care of Sammy” that John had imparted on him. Dean could have let Sam walk out that door and never gone to get him to help him look for John. But instead, Dean loved Sam too much to stay away from him any longer. He didn’t want to be on the road without Sammy.

His look of wonder when he sees Sam for the first time in 4 years shows there’s no resentment for his little brother he gave up his childhood for.

And then his look of “please don’t say you’re leaving” when Sam says Dean in a way that Dean has absolutely heard him say it before, when they’re on their way back from finishing their official first hunt together.

He wants his brother with him more than anything. That’s not resentment, that’s “I love you. I don’t want to say goodbye again.” Dean spent 4 years hunting with their dad and doing solo hunts, but I’m pretty sure every time he’s driving with no one in shotgun he’s always longing for Sam to be beside him.

And this is just the pilot. Dean and Sam give each other these longing looks throughout the entire series. They’ve fought a bunch of times, but what brothers haven’t? Lucifer beat the shit out of Dean with Sam’s hands but Sam used memories of him and Dean to break his hold long enough to save the world, to save Dean (because not only once has it been made clear that Dean is Sam’s world.) They’ve fought and knocked each other out numerous times to protect each other, or to keep the other from doing something stupid. It’s definitely a problem, but their hearts are there.

Sam and Dean’s love for each other burns stronger than the sun.

But Destihell? That ship is problematic. Cas beats the shit out of Dean when Dean decides he wants to say yes to Michael, and he also beats the shit out of Dean in Lucifer’s crypt because Dean won’t give him the angel tablet. People can try to argue that he woke up and stopped because he realized he didn’t want to hurt Dean, but he only stopped when he touched the angel tablet and it erased what Naomi did to him. But he beat the ever living shit out of Dean in that scene.

If Sam and Dean have an unhealthy relationship, then what the hell do Dean and Castiel have? Sunshine and roses? They’re more of a problem ship than Wincest will ever be because they don’t have this deep love connection the way the brothers do. Wincest was never about sex. Sam and Dean don’t have to have sex or kiss to be a canon ship. They’re already canon in more ways than I can even list. It’s platonic, it’s brotherly, it’s true.

Sam and Dean are the only “endgame” ship there will be in Supernatural.

I’ve said it before and I will say it again, Castiel has had pseudo-romantic feelings for one character, and that was Meg. Hell, he had been about to agree to have sex with her when everything was over had Sam and Dean not walked into the room when they were talking. But besides Meg, Castiel was really soft for Sam. He’d give Sam these looks sometimes, and touch him so gently. If he was going to fall for one of the Winchester brothers, it would have been Sam. He’s never said things to Dean like “Nothing is worth losing you” like he’s said to Sam.
