These houses were all built between 1850 and 1875. It's hard to get a good sense of how small they are. They kind of remind me of the creepy old houses in Uzumaki.
J.C. Schlichtkrull (Feb. 28, 1866 - 1945) was a Danish painter, trained at the Academy and after that with P.S. Krøyer at Zahrtmann’s school. Schlichtkrull liked Vendsyssel and painted many landscapes and portraits of locals from the region. He also traveled abroad, to France and Italy.

Peder Mørk Mønsted - Sunlight reflected in the creek, Sæby Å., 1922, oil on canvas Peder Mørk Mønsted (1859 - 1941) was a Danish landscape painter. His paintings often depict forests, waterways and rural Danish Life. Mønsted painted with accurate detail and colour. He was skilled in depicting sunlight in natural settings.
Late 1930s apartment building being sold for demolition on the north-east coast. Definitely one of the stranger houses I've come across. You can only hope that toilet wasn't actually plugged in like that.

Schlichtkrull liked Vendsyssel and painted many landscapes and portraits of locals from the region. He settled there, in Hammer Bakker, where he lived from 1920 onwards.

April 4 is the birthday of local artist, Svend Engelund (1908-2007), who in his long life painted hundreds of characteristic landscape canvases showing the rich, green flatness of Northern Jutland. You could almost call his style naturalism as constructivism...
