i just found this kick awesome okay :P

in the SW prologue, vemrin is told to get to baras’s chambers while the SW is sent to get their lightsaber to become sith

vemrin disobeys this order and gets a gutful of warblade for his trouble

but consider: an au where he did not disobey this order, and instead reports to baras’s chambers, where... oh, surprise, baras is actually in the market for a second apprentice for a top secret mission.

shit proceeds as normal until the SW is sent to bump off vengean, when who should they have to go and rescue first but... you guessed it... their old rival from the academy. vemrin is salt as f but they kill vengean and etc etc

tl;dr vemrin in place of draagh for an actual game-length rival to the SW who has a reason to hate the SW/the SW to hate him, making quesh that much more a kick in the teeth and hoth that much more enraging (consider: the SW’s rival since the academy, attacking their crew and taking particular unpleasant interest in their love interest) and corellia that much more endlessly fucking satisfying
