she wants to defensively reply that no, she isn't shy at all, but satomi feels heat creeping up her neck to the tips of her ears, and she knows that's bullshit. it's ridiculous, too, because her and mei mei are both girls. granted, she's never been to an onsen before, but her senpai, in a surprising moment of generosity, invited her.

"i'm not! it's just that sudden temperature changes mess with my technique!" Yeah, no, that's a load of shit. Satomi closes her eyes and takes a breath then, steadying her nerves, before she pulls her towel off and quickly slips into the warm waters. It's so soothing... honestly, it makes her nerves from just seconds earlier seem to melt away in an instant.

"o-oh," she says, looking over at the older woman. "it feels really nice, mei-san. so what're we supposed to do in these sorts of places huh? hanging around naked with strangers seems awkward, don'tcha think?"

@veilcurse asked: "sometimes you're not annoying."

the comment catches satoru off guard. it's not often that shoko compliments him since she always says she's not interested in making his already over-inflated ego grow any larger. granted, it's more of a back-handed compliment than anything, but that's how they roll. regardless, it's still nice to hear. 

naturally, satoru takes the opportunity to be annoying about it.

❝ aw, shoko, getting all sentimental on me? how wholesome! i always knew i was your favorite, ❞ satoru grins, utterly obnoxious as he throws and arm around her shoulders. he leans in too, nuzzling his cheek against hers like she's some sweet puppy.
