Happy Friday family!
Today I thought I’d give ya’ll some advice relating to weight loss. This post not Mars related but I think Jared would be proud in me spreading the wealth. Cause we all want to be eternal vampires, right?
I know this is a huge topic but it’s one that’s important. It’s something that surrounds my peers and the negative connotations it brings frustrates me. I want to say that I am not a certified doctor but this is just advice.
Yes I lost a significant amount of weight in high school...but it wasn’t the way one should lose weight. There was a crazy amount of restriction and emotional challenges I was going through. And I don’t want that to be the case for any of you.Â
Without further ado here it is:
1. Listen to your body.Â
This sounds stupid but it’s true. Your body doesn’t lie to you. It will always lead down the path you were meant to be on. People spend so much time in their heads that they forget about how they feel.
2. Eat Plants, Cut Out Oil, Consume Less Animal Products, and Stay Hydrated
The whole “protein” thing is ridiculous and should be avoided at all costs. Yes you may have your beans and faux meats but animal products are incredibly detrimental to your health. Literally. Know that all plants have protein. It’s the fiber that everyone seems to downplay.
Here’s are a few resources to explain my point:

http://nutritionstudies.org/12-frightening-facts-milk/
http://www.vegsource.com/news/2009/12/the-perils-of-dairy-video.html
3. Avoid Fad “Diets”
I swear this is the pit fall of almost everyone. This is what I followed and idolized in middle school and part of high school and it almost destroyed my entire being. I never felt like I was good enough. It amplified the voices in my head saying “you’re not good enough. You’ll never make it.”
If anything they’re out for your money and time. So it’s best to spend and invest it in something that’s sustainable.
4. Do Your Research
Yes this is when doing your homework is vital. Not only does it keep you on track but it keeps your moral compass in balance.Â
There are some great resources out there besides PETA. Some YouTubers I follow are @highcarbhannah @vegsource @ninaandrandanelson @sweetsimplevegan @plantifulsoul. They all preach not only love and acceptance but some great tasting plant based vegan recipes! They are all affordable and easy to make. If a three year old can make them, so can you.
Here’s an example of some meals you can have:
5. Write Down Why You’re Doing This.
Writing down the reasons why you’re making these lifestyle changes is important. Not only does it help you but those around you. When I went vegan I wrote down the reasons why I wanted to go vegan. I wrote down that I wanted animal suffering to cease,  it would help me gain weight from years of restriction, increase my focus and clarity, and help the environment.
6. Don’t Listen to the Haters.
There will always be someone close to you or a colleague who won’t understand. It may come from a genuine place but you must love yourself enough to know that you’ll be okay.Â
If anything share this amazing lifestyle with the world. Take a trip to the farmers market or the grocery store with friends. More and more places are selling vegan friendly products that are cheap and affordable.
7. Do An Exercise that You Enjoy.
It’s that simple. I do lots of yoga, biking, and running but I’ve been stretching my fitness levels to dance. Just find something you like. There’s so much out there.
8. Enjoy the Ride.
Yes you will make mistakes at first. Consistency and knowledge are  key. Failure happens. The important things is that we accept them and move forward.Â
I hope ya’ll have a great day. I hope this helps some of you guys.  I’m not trying to make you go vegan but just giving you my perspective on this topic and what should be done about it.Â
Remember that I, a fellow echelon, believes in you. If you need any help you can message me.

I didn’t choose veganism because it sounded good or it sounded like the right thing to do. I’m a vegan because there is an overwhelming amount of evidence out there that choosing to be non-vegan is the wrong thing to do - For my body and for our world!
We have such a huge opportunity as the new generation. We can abandon a time of animal enslavement and pain and cruelty, and we can start over from a foundation of love and peace.
I see the future... And animals are free!
