So I’m just gonna day it: in one meme, this describes nearly perfectly why I believe god was created in the image of man and not the other way around. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not atheist but I definitely could be based on these crackpot mind hack delusions to make ourselves feel less than, horrible about ourselves, shame ourselves, and bend ourselves into a little pretzel to please a version of god that is in serious need of editing. God depicted here has all the attributes of a haughty self serving man: selfish, judgmental, angry, self-righteous, bigoted, homophobic, xenophobic. Rewards those who love him and condemns those who don’t into everlasting hellfire and eternal damnation. He would really suck as a parent much less a human being. That people model their lives and behaviors around this false concept is exactly what is wrong with the world. Doing horrific inhumane things to others and to animals in the name of this god and feeling holy and self righteous about the abuse, enslavement, exploitation and slaughter of billions of animals per year, saying its what God wants, make me question the nature of this god. Because he actually sounds like a horrible example of a human being. They’re not describing God. They’re describing the devil, the wolves in sheep’s clothing, speaking with tinkly bells and high sounding phrases to brainwash generations of true innocents with the most blasphemous concepts that in order to serve this god, you must abandon compassion, empathy and love, and replace them with great import with psychopathy, narcissism and fear.
