okay but the trope of a group with technology trying to do the main characters' job sounds veeeeeery much like season 3 of Le Visiteur du Futur, a french web series that I love a lot.
In VDF s3, it turns out that the new group is clearing way more jobs than the main characters BUT that's only bc the main bad guy has a side chick that creates more job
So I wonder if the British MOL are doing something like this? I honestly don't remember anything from season 12 bc I watched it back in 2016 and I guess I erased it from my brain lol
