A yapfest under da cut...
HOSUH — Water, Poison
Effective against: Grass, Fire, Rock, Ground, Fairy
Weakness: Grass, Psychic, Electric, Ground
Immune against: None
Water is necessary for all things living, although who knows what could be awaiting us in the unknown? It's usually said: “fire is a good servant but a bad master”, however isn't it the same about water? The beings that lurk below the pretty surface can be deadly if you pose a threat to their peace.
Hosuh isn't much different. His intentions seem pure, and most of the time, they were! Although Psychological never-ending torture is bound to make even the purest of heart behave in an ugly manner.
He wanted Hart, the cause of his despair, to go out quietly. His pharmacology knowledge taught him a lot about how to end a life. And what better way to utilize theory rather than putting it into practice?
Stephen is both what keeps him grounded, his companion, and yet the one that drives him further to insanity. A paradox, isn't it?
Whenever Stephen is by his side, the torment seems more bearable and yet they're bound to relive moments of loss, over and over.
Hosuh is willing to attempt killing God, just to live a normal life, where death is permanent and where joy actually has meaning.
HART — Psychic
Effective against: Poison, Fighting
Weakness: Dark, Ghost, Bug
Hart, as the gamemaster, has control and power. It doesn't matter if he decides to partake or not. He is capable of things the other two simply aren't. The world is at his fingertips and his insatiable curiosity only grows.
The more you resist his authority, the more prone you are to madness. You can try killing him, although I doubt you'd win in the long run.
Even though the situations he puts his friends in are less than desirable, they're interesting. Surviving monsters, the supernatural and natural. Seeing how his pals behave quenches his thirst and with a roll of a dice he can seal their fates.
He can also be quite cunning and vague just to see how his friends interpret his message. Shifting the reality to their beliefs of whatever may occur.
Despite all this talk, the contestants of the show aren't tied to simple one dimensional roles. They are themselves, fully human. And humans can only withstand so much until they surrender or break.
Darkness consumes all unfortunate souls, unless you welcome it, embrace it. And shape it into who you are. Surrender can be both a weakness and a strength with enough apathy.
Once you succumb, there's nothing to lose. Life might be meaningless and yet full of opportunities. If death isn't permanent, neither is the agony. It's all a fleeing moment.
The psychological torment is bound to shape who you are even if you embrace it and fight to see the positives whilst the pain of repetitive demise.
Despite Stephen's tough exterior, he is a man of many weaknesses. One of them being his best friend, Hosuh. Witnessing how much despair he's in, was way more agonizing than the burning sensation of the stab wounds.
