it’s only days until opening so here are some things i’m looking for

“you need to focus,”  followed by childish taunts and stuck out tongues, “spitfire” wasn’t one to skimp on trainings. and “aegis” wasn’t the one trying to be a hero. not when everyone says that’s more spitfire’s alley. “i told you i didn’t want to do this,” feet folding beneath her, head hitting the poor excuse of a training map. aegis was tired, overwhelmingly so. how long had it been? aegis wasn’t sure she even had a chance to glimpse at the sun since she was woken up. “oh come on, aegis. who else am i supposed to train with?” there’s a thud next to her. aegis doesn’t bother turning to see her sister’s face, her own face, staring at her with that pleading look in her eyes. “i need to be able to get through defenses.” aegis wondered if her sister’s quirk was really the same as her own. father claimed it so since birth. but personal training was never the same for them.  spitfire was offense, running and charging right at the practice dummies. but aegis had to be steady, focused on blocking any attacks going towards her sister, or herself. it was easier to fall into the shadows, and hear the praise of spitfire fill the gym. defense was never meant to be flashy. that made spitfire the star. aegis just had to make sure to keep her safe.  > > > / / / > > > 17 yrs old. “you need to focus,” it was a shout from somewhere outside the smoke. aegis could feel the pulsating of her head travel through to her fingertips. this was too much. how many explosions have they thrown at her at this point? how much longer did they have to test the durability of her defense. her breathing was staggering.  she hadn’t even moved one inch towards the goal post. was that his goal? take her sister, but keep her back? “on your left!” came spitfire’s shout over the commotion, and aegis is quick to shift gears and turn block towards the incoming boulder. but she’s not fast enough, or there’s not enough distance from herself and her force field, or her footing gets lost with the weight of boulder, she should have made a prop behind her, should have considered the weight quicker. she knows exactly what she does wrong the moment she shifts. aegis is thrown back, hitting the concrete floor, and she can’t bring herself to get up. her body screamed for her to give up, so would that be so wrong? “get back up, dumbass! you still have time!” maybe it was the desperation in spitfire’s voice that brings aegis back from her self-pitying hole. or maybe it was her own mind, pushing her forward. but aegis is back up, running towards the goal. acting now, thinking later.  she didn’t want to be left behind.  > > > / / / > > > 24 yrs old.

“Burn it”

Her panicked gaze switched between her brother and her father, unsure of what to do. Not wanting to do what was being asked but knowing that if she didn’t the punishment would be much worse.
