50 doesn't feel that bad. A little more gray and many miles since I spent my 40th birthday here.
And got to play fetch with this good boy, as well.

Today VineDication visited Effingham Winery, who will be partnering with us. What an educational experience, not only in wine but in history. Did you know: Located in Prince William County you can find Effingham Manor, a Tidewater-style plantation house built in the late 1700s. The builder of this stately home was William Alexander, great-grandson of John Alexander, for whom the city of Alexandria, Virginia is named. The beauty of Effingham’s history remains present to this day Visitors to this lovely winery can step back in time and enjoy the history by visiting the original smokehouse, slave quarters, a very early terraced garden, and a blacksmith shop which are still present to this day. Be sure to take a minute and read the poem of a young 14 year old heart broken suitor who became the first president of the newly formed United States, George Washington. Having been a family home for over 200 years, it was sold in December of 2015 to be opened as a beautiful winery in the summer of 2016. Effingham Winery has done a wonderful job in preserving and maintaining the historical aspects while providing a relaxing environment to enjoy some phenomenal wines. If you are in the area we definitely recommend making a stop! . . #virginiawine #virginiawineries #vawinetrail #princewilliamcounty #wine #effingham #effinghammanorwinery #effinghamwinery #winehistory #history #historicallandmark #historicallandmarks #virginiahistory #virginiahistoricalsociety #saturday #winesaturday #wineitup #wineandhistory #historyandwine #georgewashington https://www.instagram.com/p/BzBqCA5Hdab/?igshid=1ugtihw4z729r
