1, 2, 3 with yuta ^_^
you have no idea how happy it made me to get 123 with both of them independently thank you both
off the top of your head: notes for characterization? what are the most essential traits of this character to you (personality traits, important connections/dynamics, voice)?
i think copy is a stupid ability in a lot of ways but i also think it is so so so fun as a peek into the kind of person he is. he is opportunistic and will take what he wants while discarding everything else. he is not exceptional at any one thing and can't stand out because of it. he has the choice to hurt other people to improve himself and he takes it, especially (But not exclusively at all!) with people who are not his friends. he is mercenary and brutal. however he hides all of ^ That behind a domain named after love
he really does want to be a Loverboy because he realizes that without it he does not have even a veneer of respectability to what he does but he's unwilling to give it up partially because he genuinely does see himself as a martyr. because he sees gojo as a martyr. he thinks that being the Strongest means being the one willing to do all of the most horrible noxious decisions possible and takes it upon himself because he frankly has an ego about his power and loves his friends
related as with rika Impossible not to talk about rika. it's very fun because the traits that get attributed to rika (possessiveness, inability to let go, reactive violent fear) by characters in the narrative are revealed with the twist to be Much more indicative of yuta. he's the one who cannot cannot cannot let go of her because he can't handle loss. I am fully including the main story in this btw because as always even if new rika is a shikigami it does not exactly bode well for his mental health and ability to handle grief that he manifested a homonculus of his dead girlfriend who is still able to feel fear and pain and seems to genuinely emote and make decisions for herself. Like what's up with that dude. I understand that you had your big moment at the end of the movie but i think we need to return to how you are not letting go of her
again if it had actually been Addressed in the spinoff i think it's a fun and not altogether unrealistic idea for him to be so obsessed with keeping everything Together that he retains rika + keeps panda's (ALLEGEDLY.) nonfuctional shell + maintains the gojo clan Without Gojo. unfortunately they seem to think grampy's violent attachment to what he's used to is brave and cool and cute. Similarly i think it's actually kind of awesome negative characterization that he dies with the lobotomy stitches without healing the scar implying that he's keeping open the option of using the technique again someday. FREAK
2. adjacentlyâdo you think fandom does the above traits justice? why or why not?
so many people fall for his loverboy image that it's kind of unreal. much like geto he is a character where you have to watch his hands because the way he presents himself is so often at odds with the shit he actually does But also people fall for it even when he is very upfront about what he's doing, eg when he talks about killing kenjaku and getting points or his meltdown over Needing to be a monster after gojo is gone. he like isn't That hard to get. it is a shonen.
3. throw this character at any other character of your choice to bounce off each other as outsider pov to each otherâ regardless of timeline or logistics (crossovers allowed if you're interesting about it). why this combination? what insights would they have on each other?
this is going to sound insane considering they do in fact interact in a very major way but Geto again. as mentioned in rika's i would have loveddddd a longer arc of them talking because their brief introduction to one another is already so fucking telling and they're just Interesting! they are put into very similar positions and handle the strain in different ways
otherwise idk who else is the thing because yuta interacts with just about everybody with his main character privileges. i'm so bstarspilled that all i can think of is Lee Gyu-hyuk
