We have reached the Syllerran System and rendezvoused with Voyager. On arrival, I was greeted by an old friend: Lt CMDR VanZyl! She has been promoted and is now serving as Adm Tuvok's adjutant, and while she escorted me to him she explained some of the current situation in the Delta Quadrant:
The Borg have faced losses on multiple fronts, including the destruction of their Unimatrix complices in fluidic space and the Alpha Quadrant, as well as suffering defeats here in the Delta Quadrant from the Voth, Undine, and multiple factions of liberated Borg. They seem to be concentrating on the latter two at the moment.
The Voth are largely contained in their home space and Solanae, having suffered major losses to the Undine and, well, us.
We've established tentatively friendly relations with two nearby species, the Kobali and the Talaxians.
Three nearby species are openly hostile, namely the Kazon, Hirogen, and Malon.
An as-yet unidentified new power has been expanding a few sectors away, conquering multiple systems including the militarily powerful Krenim. A major current priority is establishing communications and figuring out what they want.
VanZyl led me to meet with Tuvok in his ready room, where he was meditating. He had a surprising request: he is still suffering psychic attacks from the Undine "Cooper," and wants me to mindmeld with him to fight back.
I've never engaged in psychic combat, and asked if he wouldn't rather have someone skilled in such things, but he said that the fact that I knew the false Cooper is more important, that it will help us find him.
