i'm not gonna sit here and pretend like i didn't like sony's kraven he makes me literally giggle and kick my feet. bc to me he's so perfect bc he's a tragic-hero-turned-villain.

he did everything he thought to be right, to even out the scale, to try and rectify every sin in his life, and then some in the only way he knew how, and it all gets spat right back in his face. not a single good deed he did went unpunished, and he still ends up the villain in the end. nothing he did to try and make things right mattered, especially when the one person he really did it for (dmitri) ended up hating him and called him worse than their horrible ass father for... *checks notes* trying to rectify all of their father's actions.

sergei tried to end the cycle, and ended up right back in it. if anything, he has to lose his identity as sergei kravinoff to become kraven the hunter, and we only really saw the kraven at the end of the movie, when he had already lost everything, and had nothing else to lose, but everything to gain.

and now i need aaron taylor-johnson to continue the role bc i really really really wanna see him play into that trope, a man with nothing to lose and everything to gain. i need to see him egotistical and ambitious and purely, truly villainous. sorry atj but i need to see you carry out this role until the end cause i'm personally invested in this timeline of his.
