Kind shepherd.
Painting of two Etruscan Underworld deities at the entrance of the Tomb of Anina (Anina being the name of the family which commissioned the tomb), near Tarquinia, dated to the middle of the 3rd century BC. On the left is Charun, holding a hammer, while the figure on the right, holding a torch, is Vanth.
I've finished painting of beautiful Vanth. Plan to do video about her this month too!

Propaganda!
Vanth is a female demon in the Etruscan underworld that is often accompanied either by additional Vanth figures or by another underworld demon, Charun (later referred to as Charu). Both Vanth and Charun are only seen in iconography beginning c. 400 BC, in the middle period of Etruscan art, although some earlier inscriptions mention her name. Her other attributes include the possession of a torch, key, or scroll, and she is shown often to be bare-chested with cross-straps across her breast, adorned with fur boots, a rolled short chiton, and sometimes with unattached sleeves. In fact, her dress has been attributed by Scheffer as specifically that of a huntress.
Propaganda from the submitter:
she basically only appears on etruscan funerary stuff and only after etruscan funerary stuff gets Fucked Up And Evil. sometimes there's more than one of her on a sarcophagus! and i love her
In Norse mythology, Jörmungandr, also known as the Midgard Serpent or World Serpent, is an unfathomably large sea serpent or worm who dwells in the world sea, encircling the Earth (Midgard) and biting its own tail, an example of an ouroboros. As a result of it surrounding Midgard (the Earth) it is referred to as the World Serpent. Jörmungandr releasing its tail is one of the signs of the beginning of Ragnarök (the final battle of the world). Jörmungandr is said to be the middle child of the trickster god Loki and the giantess Angrboða.
