Dancing was not his forte, his parents always took him to fancy parties where there was a dance floor for people who desired to slow dance with their date. On such occasions, Haru was always dragged along by his parents as a younger kid. Eight years old, and they forced him to take dance lessons so he could dance with the pretty little girl who sat at the table next to them. Haru was always bad at dancing, stepping on his dance partners feet, never successfully twisting his partner around in a full spin, never being able to finish a dance routine without accidentally injuring those who were willing to dance with him.
His school had it’s annual festival coming up, which always ended in a dance party. It was the time where you could show off just how much your parents spent on training you as a young child. Such activities only made Haru feel like a failure, never able to prove just how much his parents loved him by showing off his skills. The only skills he ever had were able to speed read 2 chapters within 3 minutes, and keeping his betta fish Cherry alive for more than four years. Those weren’t the skills his school looked for in a student.
One day this festival had come up in a conversation with Vanille, the girl who saved his precious key chain from damage that fateful day. They were out in the shopping district, going around looking for something to do on a lazy Saturday when Vanille asked him about his school life. She mentioned that most schools had festivals to show off the best of the best, and wondered if his private school did the same.
Harus stomach dropped in fear, and shrugged. He really plan on going to the festival, he never did. He always helped prepare for the festival during school hours, and then left before the party started
Vanille asked him why he skipped out on the festivities, and instead just have fun. He was usually a fun guy, always smiling and making people smile, he seemed like the kind of person to go around and have fun with other people.
"I can’t dance."
Haru said rather sheepishly. It was nothing new, almost everyone who knew him since a little kid knew he couldn’t dance. What he didn’t expect was Vanille to say, ”Well I can help you.”
