SHOWER GHOST.
The all-girl dorm I lived in three years ago already had its fair share of ghost stories, but I can't remember if this happened before or after we were all crowded into the bottom floor lounge to hear the upperclassmen tell us about them. I guess it doesn't really matter, because I know that this wasn't a case of my imagination getting the better of me.
I lived on the bottom floor, also known as the Pit. I liked it; it was quiet and a nice place for a solitary person like me to live. The bathroom wasn't the best in the residence, and the water pressure in the shower was kind of pitiful, but I got used to it.
In the Pit bathroom, there were two shower stalls, side by side. There was a little bit of room to change, a towel rod on the opposite wall, and a curtain blocking the showers off from the rest of the bathroom that I always made sure to pull completely closed. Each stall had a curtain, as well.
Once - I can't remember if it was in the evening or during the day - I was taking a shower when I heard the heavy bathroom door open and close. A few seconds later, I heard the curtain dividing the showers from the bathroom get shoved open, and then the shower next to me turned on. I thought it was kind of weird; I didn't hear a towel get taken off, I didn't hear the water get interrupted by someone stepping under it, but I shrugged it off and finished my shower.
I promise you, I didn't hear anyone leave. I didn't hear the bathroom door open and close again, I didn't hear anyone sneak into a toilet stall. The bathroom was small, the entire floor was silent, and the tile walls caught sounds easily; I would have heard them.
So imagine my surprise when I turned off my shower, closed the divider curtain again, dried myself off, put on my robe and peered into the shower next door -- and no one was there.
