The Plot for the day is...
Zuko Plot 072: Blood Suckers
Desiring powerful heirs, Ozai forwent a human wife and with the help of the fire sages, chained a demonic spirit to himself. Ursa was enraged at his audacity, but she had patience. She would gift him two heirs, and then his power would fall. Ozai was never good at listening to vague warnings.
The kids are vampiric and feed off their father's blood and chi instead of milk like a human baby. Ozai is disgusted and denies his son, but Ursa insists it is the only way to make his heirs strong. He still refuses but when Zuko grows weak, he doesn't take the chance with Azula.
Her side of the deal complete, Ursa leaves. Ozai quickly realizes he will not survive if he continues to feed both children off his life energy, and quickly casts out Zuko since he was already weaker. Azula may be an abomination but she was a powerful one!
Zuko manages to survive feeding off peasants and passersby. But they are weak and he's so hungry… He tries multiple times to go back to his father and Ozai eventually chases him out with fire.
Luckily, Iroh had come home on a short leave from war and he is much stronger than father! When Iroh scoops up the abandoned, freshly scarred Zuko, the kid latches onto him to feed. Iroh was NOT expecting that. Thinking his nephew is cursed, Iroh smuggles him out of the fire nation and takes him to Omashu hoping king Bumi might have an idea.
There Iroh discovered the depth of what Ozai had done. They also learn that Zuko wont feed from non firebenders. Bumi offered and everything. "Seems the boy has a taste for fire"
Iroh forced to bring Zuko with him to the war on ba sing se, but it was a horrible idea. It's a buffet of strong fire benders and Zuko has NOT been being fed properly. He wipes out half the unit and forces them to retreat.
Behind Iroh's back his officers kidnap the kid and ship him off to the war front near the colonies to hopefully die, telling Iroh he ran away.
Years later Zuko is a horror story to keep your kids in at night. But don't worry! It only eats firebenders. Earth kingdom citizens hope he's real and will end the war by eating the rest of the fire nation.
Zuko just wants to survive.
