Chapter 12 Excerpt:

There’s a longing—a cold, dark emptiness deep inside Dana Katherine Scully that cannot truly be filled. Try as she might to bury all knowledge of it, to ignore the chasm, the opening yawns wide at the oddest, most inconvenient times and threatens to swallow her whole.  When it makes itself known, she tries to escape by indulging in the sleep she doesn’t need. It only sometimes works.

au where Scully was born a vampire and Mulder convinces her to stop repressing and being ashamed of her vampire side. This idea is mainly inspired by that one photoshoot Gillian and David did in the early days where they're in all black and long coats. Also my love of the "my sister the vampire" book series and vampires-everyday-society media in general

Lots of transfem Mulder stuff, hopefully one day a full length canon divergence fic about his journey with discovering his gender, but for now it is unfortunately mainly just lesbian msr smut (well maybe not that unfortunately)

So much queerplatonic msr stuff. All of the whump/fluff missing scenes they deserved

Also possibly some stuff about Scully's denial of the paranormal, how she longs to fit in and have a regular life, and how she will fight to have that alongside her involvement with Mulder and the x files, even though she knows it's a losing battle

The way the two agents are looking at each other today, though, is different. There’s something unspoken below the surface as always, but this time when he catches glimpses of it, it’s a monster—it’s absolutely massive, this secret. The visit is short, and Skinner, on his way to his car, calls his secretary to cancel his meetings for the rest of the day. Mulder and Scully must think he was born yesterday. Well, let them think it. There’s no way he’s taking his eyes off of them now, not after whatever happened in there.

In Chapter 10 of Essentially Exactly the Way It Happened, Skinner stops by to check on Mulder, and he doesn't trust the agents when they say they've got everything under control. After all, they rarely do.

Chapter 11 Excerpt: Marita’s apartment is pretty sparse, actually, and the longer Scully spends inside, the more it smells like… wet dog? That’s odd. Marita doesn’t seem like the type to own pets. Or much of anything, apparently. The fridge and cupboards are empty. There’s hardly any furniture besides the couch and the bed. The gun safe, on the other hand, is full. And it’s ajar. That puts Scully on edge, a full gun safe hanging open like that. It looks like there are, at most, one or two guns missing.  If she hadn’t already brandished her own piece before entering the apartment, this would’ve prompted her to. Something is off. Way off. Where’s Marita?

Chapter 9 Snippet: There are times in a person's life, mortal or immortal, when they feel their world shifting on its axis. For Scully, this is one of those times. Mulder’s face cycles quickly through several emotions, and she tries in vain to catalog them all. It’s impossible to catch every one, but she sees shock first and possibly a touch of fear? Maybe not. Wonder, excitement, curiosity. Shock again.  She's not prepared for him to nearly pass out. That’s uncharacteristic of him, but he has recently suffered a head injury. Showing Mulder her fangs had been a spur of the moment decision, but she knows him. Without proof, he would've thought she was joking. The persona she projects to protect herself, Agent Scully, does not believe in the paranormal.  Fangs retracting quickly and somewhat painfully, Scully hurries to catch him before he falls, and Mulder doesn't faint, not fully. He slumps and then recovers when her hands wrap around his middle.
