#vampire bingo

Vincent doesn't know how long he's actually been staring at the mirror. He runs his tongue over his fangs again, biting back the urge to impale the muscle on his stupid, sharp teeth.

He can faintly hear Clary, watching something on her television. He doesn't know what, and he doesn't really care. No, he's being selfish again, everyone else be damned.

If he hadn't become a vampire, he would be a nobody. He knows that. And still, he thinks about how easy it would be to rip his fangs out with his bare hands and feel just a little bit human again.

Vincent loosens his jaw, and presses his fingers to his teeth. He can feel his fangs making tiny cuts on his fingers, but what does it matter? He's already about to do something worse.

Twist or pull? That's the question he's asking now. If he pulls, he might knock his other teeth into his skull, knowing his stupid strength.

He twists.

The scream sticks in his throat. He covers his mouth with his hand, blood drooling out and through the gaps in his fingers. He tries to spit it out, but it's still stuck. Shaking, he reaches into his mouth and snaps the last of what is keeping it attached.

He drops the fang into the sink, broken tendrils of his gum hanging off of it. He stares at it for a long moment. The gap in his mouth throbs, drips globs of stolen blood onto the porcelain.

The other teeth are freed with less fanfare.

Vincent stares at his open, bloody mouth in the mirror. What made him think removing his fangs would make his corpse look any more human? All he looks is foolish.

He doesn't feel better, of course he doesn't. There's only an itch under his skin, a need to get rid of this weakness that plagues him. Being a vampire is nothing to be ashamed of, he tells himself. But this? Standing in front of a bathroom mirror, a bloody, pathetic mess?

He can almost feel Lyfelde at his throat. That's shameful.

He can still hear Clary in the other room. He needs to reassert his pride. She'll do. She's the only one whose opinion of him he can control, at least.
