Riley was fed up. For the past six months (and three weeks, as she was counting), she couldn’t seem to get rid of the damn leak that was coming from almost all faucets in her house.
At first, she thought maybe it was a blown pipe - it wasn’t an absurd thought, considering the low temperatures; then, perhaps, a clog. But no matter what plumber she hired, they all insisted that there was nothing wrong, that it must’ve been some sort of bad luck, if anything.
Overall, she just wanted it over with. And when an old friend that had experienced something similar recommended an exorcist, Riley just gave in. What else was she to do?
Daniel Rivers was her last resort.
It had been a boring past couple of weeks, seeing as nobody had any ghostly endeavors they needed taken care of... Of course, that didn't mean Daniel had a shortage of customers for his other job, but he had other interests than murder and intricate torture methods. Finally, when a young woman named Riley reached out about a mysterious leak in her house, the spirit had practically leapt at the opportunity.
Putting on a pair of rounded black sunglasses and his beloved purple suit alongside a black turtleneck, he brought his satchel of exorcism equipment and drove to her home with stars in his colorless irises.
He knocked on door to the address that had been provided to him, an enthusiastic smile playing at his lips as they waited for a response. Maybe he could find a new type of demon, one that he hadn't run across before; every new experience was a learning opportunity, and since he'd been doing this job since he passed away in the 1970s, it wasn't often that he found new spirits or demons to deal with.
