This week I was nominated by a former teacher for a 5 Day Black & White Challenge. I made the first two in 2008, the two sets of two (both from my Scars series) in 2010, and the last earlier in 2014.

Rule 1: Always post the rules. Rule 2: Answer the questions the person who tagged you asked, and write 11 new ones. Rule 3: Tag 11 people and link them to the post. Rule 4: Actually tell them you tagged them.
1. If you could be any fictional character, who would it be and why?
Lazarus Long
2. Name three places in the world you would most like to visit and tell me why.
I've always wanted to do one of those Alaskan coastline cruises, I don't know if that counts as a place... Prague; it's so beautiful, I wanna go see it in person. And...I guess Tokyo might be interesting. Somewhere in Japan, anyway.
3. Who do you admire most in the world and why?
At the moment, probably Bill Nye and the other science popularisers. I don't think there's nearly enough scientific understanding in this country.
4. Tell me a funny anecdote about something that’s happened in your life.
I was up a tree on mushrooms once at like 3 in the morning on campus at Univ of [REDACTED]. Some guy was walking by talking to himself, which freaked me out a little so I jumped down, unthinkingly freaking him out. We stared at each other for a second or two and then took off in opposite directions. It was only later I realized he had a bluetooth thing.
5. If there is one thing about your life that you could change right now, what would it be?
My living situation. I've been living with a relative for a few years now, but that might be about to change...
6. If someone told you that of all your personal possessions, you could only keep one, what would it be?
Oh shit. Maybe my first copy of Dune, which I got when I was twelve and has been read so many times it's literally falling apart.
7. If you could live the life of one human being, living or dead, who would it be?
Robert Plant. I bet he's had a great fucking time.
8. What do you think is your greatest strength?
I think I'm pretty empathic. I'm good at reading peoples' moods and body language.
9. What do you think is your biggest weakness?
I tend to have unreasonably high expectations of people, so I tend to wind up disappointed.
10. Name the one thing in life that you are more passionate about than anything else.
If I had to pick something, I guess I'd say pool, though I'm not really passionate about it.
11. If there is one question you were secretly hoping I’d ask you, write the question and then answer it.
(I'm gonna steal themagnificentunknown's question. I know that sucks, but it's kinda spot-on.)
Q: Favourite book/movie/TV franchise of all time.
A: The Dark Tower Series. I'm a little terrified at the prospect of a movie/tv incarnation.
Themagnificentunknown's questions:
1. What is your favourite book/movie/TV franchise of all time and why?
I spoiled this one for myself, so I'll go a different direction. I can't get enough Arrested Development. Every time I watch it, it gets better.
2. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Probably here. I've been with my job for 6 years, and I'm about to start a new, better position with the same organization, so I'm probably in it for a while. And I'm kinda feeling like a family would be nice, if the circumstance presented itself.
3. What do you love most in the whole entire world?
The sound ribbon makes when you scrape it over scissors so it'll curl up.
4. Is there a special someone and how did you meet them?
Not really, I did just have a really good first date with someone though.
5. Where would you most love to go?
See #2 up top.
6. If you could go into space would you? Where would you go?
Fuck yeah, wherever they'd send me.
7. What do you think is the most attractive quality in someone?
Empathy/understanding
8. What would be your ‘spirit animal’? Why.
Shit, I don't know. I'm really tall and lanky so...a giraffe?
9. If money were no issue, what would you spend your life doing?
Probably travel for a while and then find some kind of philanthropy to do.
10. What skill would you most like to learn?
I'd like to learn to fly.
11. Where do you want to be right now?
Honestly, right here. Feeling good at the moment.
