Lost at the end of time | Lightning & Vanille
The same... but not quite right. That's all this place was, wasn't it? Vanille blinked several times, half convinced that she had fallen asleep before completing her walk around New Bodhum. She'd been hoping to stumble across Serah, whom she hadn't seen for such a long time. But now she was here? Though where exactly was here?
It looked nothing like she had ever seen before, that was for sure. It was completely devoid of colour, as if someone had come along and sucked all the light from the sky. And where buildings once stood, ruins now held their place. The red headed Oerbian was completely baffled. This was New Bodhum, no doubt about it. But something was wrong. Very, very wrong. She crouched down on her heels, hopelessly searching for some kind of life in the shape of a flower, yet knowing that she was not going to find it. She sighed, returning to her upright position and deciding, with a long exhale of breath, to at least search around a little.
Her footsteps echoed around her, creating a kind of dissonance that set the usually cheerful girls teeth on edge. There was simply nothing here. Nothing... But no. She had to find something. Or else, how on earth would she even know where to start with returning things to how they were. Because that was what she had to do it seemed. Biting her lip, she continued onward - it was all she could do, except from retrieving her binding rod from her back pocket as she walked. Just in case the shadows surrounding her decided to become more than just shadows
If she was honest with herself, she'd rather they didn't.
