Zayne and Valko meeting because they both have a vested interest in Mc's health and therefore both have researched extensively in ways to ensure she doesnt come to any harm.
Even if that harm is from a ticking time bomb in her chest.
(Yes I know she has a protocore in her chest, but walk with me here.)
So they start to work on an extensively advanced pacemaker with Zayne's vast well of physiological and cardiac knowledge and Valko's impressive control of his metallization evol, they create a prototype for a pacemaker.
But oh no! It still has a few issues to work out.
Unbeknownst to them you'd come to visit Valko, peeking into the lab, you watch them.
You can't hear what they're saying but you can see the icy look on Zayne's face as Valko grins at him, nudging his knee. You know that look. You'd worn that look before with Zayne.
The asshole was provoking him!
You sneak closer, catching the clipped tone of your beloved doctor. Oh. He's pissed.
Peeking up from your hiding place, you see Valko leaning towards Zayne, glints of mischief flashing behind his glasses.
Valko's voice is low now; soothing. He murmurs something to Zayne, and you watch in shock as Zayne's ears burn red.
Not with anger, oh no, but because hes flustered??
You bite back a laugh at the sight. And as you attempt to scramble away, only then does Valko's gaze find you - unbothered and aware.
"Going somewhere, mc?"
You seem to have forgotten that Valko's sense of smell was.... honed in on you.
Fuck. He knew you'd been there the whole time.
As you stagger to your feet from your hiding space, Zayne meets your gaze so fast you think he may have whiplash.
And yet, his eyes still look dazed. A flush still on those beautiful cheeks.
Valko has done the impossible.
He's broken Zayne, just like you.
As you walk towards them with a smug grin, you are suddenly very glad you walked into this.
As for what comes after?
