A single week of peace.

That was all he got. A week without having to jump through hoops to keep from dying (again). A week without having to battle strange looking creatures. Surprise, Surprise, fate wasn’t done screwing him over. The day had started as normal as Neku could hope, he was to meet his friends at Hachiko, just the same as every other day after THE GAME. Neku was the first to arrive, and after a few minutes of waiting, company came to meet him.

Unfortunately it wasn’t the company he was expecting.

They were strange, INKY creatures that moved smoother than any other monster he had seen. They blossomed out of the ground, and immediately reminded Neku of the creatures that he had met with time and time again during the reaper’s game.

‘ Noise ? Here ? ’

The thought bubbled into Neku’s mind along with a SHOT of adrenaline, immediately getting into a fighting position as the massive crowd that was shibuya finally focused on the beady eyed monsters. It was only until one creature lunged at an innocent bystander that PANIC replaced the CONFUSION. As Neku looked around at the screaming crowd, a crowd of noise (Neku believed) immediately fixating on him. Hands immediately touched at the pins still lining his shorts, the weapons against the creatures, warming under his touch. Neku didn’t have time to wonder if the pins would work without a partner, or if his lasting friendships counted as partnerships before he sent a column of flame toward the closest enemy.

Guess they worked.
